Without wanting to start a discussion about Total War AI, multiplayer tends to make each game in the series just a little bit better. Creative Assembly's depiction of the Trojan War lacked multiplayer support when it released back in August, as the team wanted to focus on the campaign, but it was always a fixed point on Total War Saga: Troy's 2020 roadmap. The multiplayer for up to eight players launches in beta on November 26. The update will also include support for community maps, a whole new co-op campaign and more.

If they do that last part, sales will fall like a rock.

I'm going to say that EA will argue that it has the Fifa license, the different national leagues licenses and also most teams licenses as well, and the use of currently active players is allowed by those licenses they've got. They'll need something more creative to explain the use of retired players but, ultimately, they can just include the ones that agree to be in and scrap the ones that don't.

The FIFPro licence is the important one.

FIFA is the crappiest licence there is, literally just lets them use the name "FIFA". The national league licences mostly only allow the name of the league, no clubs or players. The FIFPro licence is the one that lets them use player names/likenesses. FIFPro is the player union. Zlatan's issue stems from him saying he's not a member of the union and thus his likeness isn't included in that licence.

It's possible he has a legit claim, it may also be possible that the MLS hold image rights for him as part of his contract and therefore EA have access to them through the MLS licence. Very few players would be able to make such a complaint though since the vast majority of them should be in the player's union.

They don't need anything creative to explain retired players, they're individual licence deals directly with the players (or their families) like the Beckham one mentioned above. That's why they don't have more, or why they had to wait awhile to get some.

Crazy if that 40m for Beckham is true though. Makes you wonder how much the other icon players are getting. Beckham wasn't even that good

As you can see from the article I've posted today, EA denies that they're paying Beckham so much. Maybe the newspaper exagerated it.

In any case, as you comment, EA has the right licenses to use the names and faces of players and so they're safe from any legal problem. The only trouble could come from former players or the ones that aren't in the union, and it's easier for EA to simply stop using them than to pay for use their names.

It appears to be the same with AMD cards, one major Scandinavian retailer announced today that they expected AMD card stock to be replenished and readily available "within the first half of 2021". Good times for all.

"Information on Radeon RX 6800 and 6800XT

Today sees the release of 3rd party models of AMD's new graphics-cards series; Radeon RX 6800 and 6800XT.
Unfortunately, the stock is turning out to be extremely low and we've only received a handful of cards from the manufacturers. As it appears right now, the manufacturing pace of ASUS, MSI, Sapphire and all other 3rd parties is very low and the wait is expected to be long. This is why we won't be accepting pre-orders from 15:00, but will only be showing the cards and offer an option for you to receive a message as soon as we open up for purchase. You'll be able to get in a queue but should prepare for a long wait and for the cards to be in stock within the first half of next year.
But you can rest assured that we're doing everything we can to get our hands on as many cards as possible and we'll deliver them as soon as we can. We ask that you all have patience regarding the deliveries of these cards."

So the biggest retailer in computer hardware in the Nordic region, and the biggest overall online retailer is basically saying that there's nothing to be bought for a long time. That's some shit right there.

PS: The company is called Komplett. All other, major retailers simply have "tell me when it's in stock" as options on both AMD and Nvidia cards (as well as PS5). This holiday season might see one of the biggest missed opportunity scenarios in gaming hardware in decades.

The problem is, because the performance of 6000 series is so yawn worthy + what seems to be even less stock than 3000 series, the demand of the 3000 series keeps on rising. Plus Jensen keeps making 3090s and 3070s instead of 3080s if the stock bot servers are any indication.

Hell today is supposed to be the AIB launches of 6000 series and newegg was the only one that had them very briefly in stock in NA. Micro-center, one of the biggest and well known retailers in the US had zero in stock. That is legit, less than 3080 stock during their launch times.
