Well, it's sort of like Athlon XP situation again - that made Intel pull their head out of their own ass.

True about GPUs and AMD - maybe it's time for another player in that game.

And Ubi wants you to use their own client, so what? Install it, use it only when you want to play some Ubi games you bought from wherever you wanted, and then close it. It's simple as that.

Ubisofts uDontPlay is catastrophically terrible.
I actually asked Ubisoft to close my accounts and had a heap of their games removed from my Steam account. - Why? Because it never worked.
I won't even pick up a Ubisoft game even if it was for free.

I'm sorry you had such bad experiences with UPlay. In my case, I only had one problem, when the server disconnected and the game shut down. But as I said, it only happened once.

https://www.pcgamer.com/fearing-legal-action-emulation-hub-emuparadise-is-removing-all-its-roms/
Last month, Nintendo filed lawsuits against two emulator sites, LoveRETRO and LoveROMs, citing their "substantial ill-gotten gains" and pursuing $150,000 for each Nintendo game hosted on the sites as well as up to $2 million for trademark infringement, not to mention the domain names and sources of their Nintendo ROMs. Today, EmuParadise, a longstanding emulation hub around since 2000, announced that it will no longer host ROMs on its site because it is not worth risking the "potentially disastrous consequences."

I must admit: the pre-E3 release date-revealing teaser trailer that slipped out in June caught me off guard. Not only was it emotional and sobering and eerie, it also looked great. At the time, Telltale told us to expect a new over-the-shoulder camera system and "scenes with unscripted combat", complimented by "all-new Graphic Black art style" that supports 4K resolution.

As an avid boardgamer, I'd be really interested to see what type of money these digital conversions are bringing them in. Boardgames are very social and tactile thing, I can't really imagine playing much of digital recreations - well, except maybe for those who originally have solo mode, like Gloomhaven or Mansions of Madness.

Anyway, Asmodee is killing it, not sure how well known this fact is, but after acquiring Mayfair earlier this year, they became by far the largest publisher in hobby boardgame business (not counting Hasbro of course, which owns some of mass market IPs, like Monopoly and Clue, plus other IPs like Magic the Gathering, Pokemon TCG and D&D). Luckily, there are still plenty of small companies in the business with great games getting released all the time.

Even when AMD was superior to nVidia in Price/Performance/Power Consumption, they still fell short of marketshare.
GPU designs also tend to be fairly capital intensive, something that AMD didn't really have much of an abundance of over the last few years.
Ryzen should help turn that around though.

Well you haven't spoken to me in person then, because the way I type and the way I talk are two totally different things in their own regard. Same goes for vocabulary usage.

So you mean that I misunderstood your comment? Well, I don't know you enough so it could be that. I also sound different in person than in messages.

But I still believe that it was a bit aggressive, as if my comments regarding Steam somehow offended you, and part of that may come from comments like "Valve aren't voted "Worst company in the world" twice, which should tell you something when comparing one company to another." Yes, EA is a shitty company and we all know it, but here we're casually talking about one of its products, Origin, not the parent company makes money. And Origin, while limited, is not a bad product, and the same goes for other clients (except apparently for UPlay if there's more people suffering the same problems as Pemalite).

It's not like you're going to stop buying a product from, say Nestle, just because it's one of the worst (if not the worst) companies on Earth, right? We can separate one thing from the other.

And yes, you're right that Valve hasn't destroyed its past franchises like EA. They have simply stopped doing them anymore . And I honestly don't know why you're putting PCGamer into this discussion. I only use their PC news, no the others.

As for why other stores don't have a Workshop like feature, and don't know (too demanding server wise?, possible copyright problems?, they simply leave it to sites like ModDB or Nexus Mods?, whatever) and I honestly don't care.

Besides, why are so defensive towards Steam when a few weeks ago you were talking sh!t about it and asking for other clients like GOG to throw their no DRM principle out of the window in order to have more games and compete with Steam? Doesn't that go against your market fragmentation complains? I honestly don't understand what's going on with you.
