So those these numbers include all the xbox 360 that RROD? because im pretty sure that number would drop if it did

If they've sold 8.4m at retail that's what they've sold. You're talking about active install base I guess, even then it's a gray area, no telling how many were thrown in the bin with the warranty.

Mmm, i guess so. i actually know people who had to get there 360's replace about 3 times because of the RROD. it would have been nice to have a warranty >< but oh well. i barely play my 360 anymore but it took some maintenance to keep it from over heating.

Given it passed 5 million in October last year, VGC apparatnly has it selling 900k since. This will probably be 1m+ by time October hits. PS3 has never/barely crossed 1m in the UK in any year so I imagine with the downturn it's nowhere near 1m for this past year.

Also, I knew it hadn't happened yet :P same with PS3 overtaking 360, when it happens Sony will be shouting it from the rooftops.

Im not sure about PS3 and 360, though I think it is best to wait until shipment confirmation. Its very close either way.

The PS3 has been overtracked by quite a bit in the UK since then, as it was at ~5.3 Million according to VGChartz at the start of October. If it has been overtracked since, we could be looking at >500k overtracked in the UK for PS3 which would be quite incredible.

The numbers here are off.  thats all you need to know these days.

ONLY the US and Japan numbers are reliable as they get adjusted after data is known from other trackers.

Europe is overtracked this year, Others are undertracked lifetime and there will be huge anomalies within those numbers too.

IMO

If the 360 is over by 500k in the UK then those 500k are elsewhere.  Unless you think there are 3m on shelves that is.

Werent we in line with Nintendo's charts for the main European countries?

Those emerging markets must be hell to track.

Every sales-thread where 360 is set to achieve anything this stuff arises... What do you want to tell us exactly? Yes, they will be lower. We don't know how much and will never know. But given that many 360 got exchanged and were not bought again I think it's a low number.

I often turn it the other way round: *Although* the 360 was such a disaster in the beginning, it recovered very good from it and sold a lot of units despite RROD.

Congrats to the 360.

Is this the first case of the Wii not being the best selling console in a country?

Well-deserved.

Ps3 must be over it in some countries in europe, spain, portugal...

by the way ps3 is over wii in total sales in continental europe

IIRC there was a rather significant upwards adjustment for the 360 after the last quarterly report showed a pretty large amount of stock in the channel. Looking back on it now though MS might have just been trying to get as much stock as possible out there since they were going to be introducing the new model at E3. Regardless though congratulations to them on their victory.

Yeah, no doubt they're very close. Sony have access to 360 numbers so they'll know when it happens.

good for you MS
