This could've been a breakthrough franchise for Highmoon studios in the comic book sector. These are the same developers who created two classic Transformers games and did to licensed animated cartoon games what Rocksteady did for licensed comic games. I can understand why Activision cut the price of this game, but they should've cut the price down to the cost of the PC version which is $40. I will wait it out and buy this game on Steam when a sale comes and just use my PS3 controller on my laptop. The script was ok but Nolan North (voice of Nathan Drake) stole the show once more! I mean come on!
I must admit... I was hoping this would be the mother of hack n slash games, seeing that Deadpool has a wealth of weapons and ways to fight compared to...well...any Hack N Slash character ever created (and that includes Dante from Devil May Cry). They had so much to work with and so much firepower to experiement with. The costumes and ways to die could've been experimented with. This is not an IP That you just up and rush through. It seems simple but a character with the wealth of qualities as Deadpool takes quite a while to perfect.
Before this game came out, I had sent out a recommendation for everyone who was interested in this game to also look at a lower budget hack n slash title in TMNT: Out of the Shadows. This game has promise and already looks worlds better and less monotonous than Deadpool. The second they showed the gameplay I was disappointed. If this was 1997, it might have recieved a pass, but not in 2013. The only reason I am playing this game is because Deadpool is one of my favorite characters of all time, just I am just waiting for the bargain bin.

High Moon must take the blame for not thinking through the core mechanics of how this game was going to be made, because the production value of this games cinematics is the only thing holding it up from looking like a steaming pile of crap. The second I saw Activision devalue the price of this game before I launch they knew they couldn't weasel $60 out of us and $50 is still too much. I should be suspicious of Activision themselves because I tend to trust developers more than publishers unless its first party.
Welp! The reviews are out so go and check it out and come up with a conclusion for yourself!
