Forums - Sony - Sony SmartWatch 2 "Life Changing"

I purchased the previous Sony watch (its pretty chunky)... and the main reason... so i dont miss phone calls etc.

I generally turn off ring tone and end up missing phone calls.. with the watch it vibrates when i have a call and shows me who is calling.

Pretty pointless (the screen is chunky to use effectively), but it can allow you to access your phones functions without needing to go get it from where it is.

How is it in direct sunlight? some screens are really bad in direct sunlight..

I would rather prefer that they keep investing in videocameras.

It's an ok screen, but the screen size is pretty small and not very good for touch. I would say wait and see what this new one is going to be like... wouldnt recommend buying the old one unless it was cheapish.

price will be 200 euros... first gen goes for 100 euros... I paid more for a non-smart watch.. it's doable

Its been out for ages, this is the revamp I presume.

Its a compromise. It connects to your android phone via bluetooth.

Its ok if you are one of those guys that has their keys hanging from a belt loop.

It's a watch... "craftmanship"!? please. Anyone that loves watches would scoff at the "craftsmanship" in this.

I'll stick with the Panerai.

video published on the 25th of june..... yeah its really old
revamp? because the #2 in the title didn't give it away

or it's probably ok if your one of those sporty people who go biking and keep your phone in your bag, watch lets you know who's calling/called without having to stop and check your bag for your phone

whats with the ridiculous statements? is it because it's sony and you have to hate?

because i prefer a simple looking nomos and my smartphone

Why do you care so much? it's only a watch, it only tells the time and shouldn't do anything more. Watches are nothing of value really anymore, so why spend 5 to 10 grand on one!?! You can pay towards a cheap car or go on several decent holidays for that money.

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

I thought smart watches were the way to go many years ago. I had the MS SPOT Watch and tried many other smart watches. SPOT was the best of them, with weather, calendar integration, etc.

Today, most people carry smart phones. Which has all the stuff a smart watch can offer and much more...

Smart watches may get an initial decent showing, but in the long term I think the idea of wearing a device on your wrist is going to disappear. I am quite happy with my smart phone being my watch/calendar/email/weather person/calculator, etc. I keep my iPad Mini in my vehicle for the times when I am out and need to surf for something, I use a tablet for surfing on the couch, I use consoles for gaming, and I have a very high end ultrabook for real computing/pc gaming.

The only use I would have for a smart watch is if it is water proof for when I go out to the lake. But, when you are in the middle of a lake, 99% of the time you do not have wifi internet access so its usefulness would be limited to telling time and looking at downloaded stuff you have already viewed.

Smart watches and glasses... What is next? Smart pocket protectors and fanny packs?
