It is hard for me to take the guys whining about DRM seriously when I know he loves PC gaming and Steam, which have DRM worse than Xbone ever wanted to have. The fact of the matter is he and others just didn't want that happening to consoles. Somehow some gamers have accepted the idea that games on their PC's are just digital collections of 1's and 0's that they cannot lend, borrow, or resale. But consoles are another story. I just feel sorry for people that are so close minded as he is. I mean, Steam and PC gaming in general are awesome. The games are cheap, the platforms to buy them from are very gamer-friendly. So why close your eyes, stick your fingers in your ears, and not want this same possibilities on consoles? With added benefits such as loaning games, reselling games, and family share?

It's a sad day for the console market. Not interested in either console until the only good looking game imho (Titanfall) is out. Maybe then I will jump in. But Sony has absolutely no interesting games and MS is charging too much and now lost all they had to differentiate themselves from PS3. Another gen where I will have 2 consoles that essentially play all the same games the same way.

Is that a joke or something?

Steam only requires you to activate your game online after that you can play it offline forever.

Offline play works for a few weeks for me then I have to log back online. Try doing a Google search for Steam offline mode time and you'll see drastically different results for everyone.

But offline play is just one DRM. Can you resell, lend, borrow, or share Steam games aside from unplayed games you give as gifts (which you can do on every console ever, including Xbone)? No.

Also regarding your previous post about how some of the stuff taken away can still be implemented even without DRM, how would MS do a family share as described with no online DRM? You could rent games, put them in your library, and play them forever. Online check-ins were vital to that feature. This Angry Joe guy doesn't seem too bright and I am done talking about him ;)

Most important point:

Everything MS marketed before the DRM change is still 100% implementable they have literally no reason to remove them but here were are AGAIN with features been supposedly taken away now that theres no DRM.

This is a massive fuck up by MS and its turning into a major fucking joke. I cant believe people are falling this crap wtf guys???

When you read shit, do you take it on it's face value, or do you think logically to see if it makes sense?

Now that DRM is implemented, Microsoft can no longer offer things such as one time disc use (not without alienating third paries who fear rampant piracy). Saying that Microsoft can implement a feature that (without DRM) would lead to piracy doesn't mean they will.

Who's the one falling for crap here? It's half of you who are brainwashed with this idea that Microsoft just decided to wake up one day and press the "fuck you consumers" button. Believe any old crap you will, but if you believe stuff that doesn't make a hint of sense, then that just makes you, the one standing up for that analogy, look just as ridiculous as the analogy itself.

Bullshit. Offline play works 100% on steam. You only require steam to activate the game. Hell even the fucking people at the shops who sell the games give these instructions very clearly. Seriously dont make some random internet rumour to be true. Steam games work 100% offline. You even trying now to bring Steam down wtf? FFS EVEN EA's ORIGINS WORKS OFFLINE!!!!

And no you can't do any of those things on steam legally. But steam is not a fucking console. Console gamers and PC gamers have different expectations. They are also completely difference types of platforms.

Just fucking wow at your last paragraph O_O are you brainwashed or something? You making as if MS have removed every aspect of DRM from their ecosystem...err no they havent. Same with PS4 DRM does not affect physcal copies it absolutely applies to digital content. I'll say it again EVERY SINGLE FEATURE MS OFFERED PRE DRM REMOVAL IS ENTIRELY POSSIBLE POST DRM REMOVAL. Think about it for 5 minutes and you will realise this too.

And lets say im wrong...Im not..but lets just assume i am. If MS really wanted to implement all those extra "features" there are multiple methods of doing it. Having all those daily checks and stuff is going waaay over the top. And lets be honest here they went over board. And thats where Steam, PS4 and every other single device hasnt crossed the line. They crossed the line added some PR and you took the bait. Good for you. You the smart one obviously -_- I cant believe we are even having this discussion from one gamer to another.

Do you want names? Just have a read through the forum you will find the people you are looking for.

There are less intrusive and convenient ways to implement DRM. If MS wanted to implement some sort of sharing plan they would have.

Im pretty sure me and 99.999% of other people are not the ones falling for crap.

Edit: And no i dont think MS hit the "fuck you consumers" button they hit the "fuck you fuck you fuck you consumer" button. No but seriously someone at MS didnt think any of this through properly and its turned out into a major fuckup that has gone waaay past the inner circles of the hardcore gamer community. Theres no ways MS planned this. But someone definitely fucked up thats for sure, i dont think anyone will deny that.

Posts like this show a lot of ignorance and are very common these days. They are ignorant for many reasons but mostly because you are assuming that absolutely no one wants DRM regardless of benefits, and the ones that do are missinformed, uneducated or just dumb.

I am not missinformed, i know exactly how DRM works and Id like to tjink Im not dumb as I have a university degree, successful job and have made fairly smart decisions for myself in life.

I would take their DRM, not because i like DRM or Im a retard, but because I see the benefits of it which outweigh the bad things about DRM. People that dont base their lives around videogaming would most likely benefit from the convenience digital only gaming will deliver, regardless of DRM. If my internet goes down for more 24 hours, ill just go read a book...go figure. Mind you I havent had internet down for more than 30 minutes for over 2 years.

So while I understand why this DRM thing doesnt work for some people, and I understand why people like Joe went full retard against DRM, ot would be nice to see the other side aknowledge the fact that some people really would be better off with always on.  They are not stupid, or missinformed, just have different needs and expectations for gaming...

Give your best shot. As a developer who has dealt with DRM publishing issues before, I'll be happy to shoot down any shortsightings, including the ones I already did with Microsoft...

I like angry joe videos. He always seems so enthusiastic.

I disagree with bolded. And I dont mean that in a disrespectful way.

And btw im sure all of us on the forum think of ourselves in the very same way you do:

"I am not missinformed, i know exactly how DRM works and Id like to tjink Im not dumb as I have a university degree, successful job and have made fairly smart decisions for myself in life."

Yes yes you're a developer I'm a developer we are all developers. Great now what?

Riddle me this though, why doesnt MS still implement the sharing plan with digital only content?
