Forums - Sony - Walmart Manager, ” I have not personally sold a Vita in over a year”.

I actually really liked vita and have been thinking of buying one.

All gaming systems, consoles/PC, have thier perks... why fight over preferences? I like Coke and you like Pepsi, that's it, let's not fight over which toy we like best cause that's what they are. Is someone's preference in a toy important or is the relationship between you and your neighbor more important? Answer is obvious, but THE most important thing is your relationship with God almighty. God Bless you in Jesus's name.

I can communicate without talking... I can send a loved one money without actually sending money... and I can commit theft without the product disappearing, the point of theft is the point of theft not one of it's possible symptoms which is the product dissappearing. The thief wants to gain something without paying for it, that's the point of theft, the thief doesn't have to care or anybody else has to care if the product dissappears. The product dissappearing is just a possible symptom of theft. Gifts are sacrfices, in order to give a gift, it has to be a genuine sacrfice/gift, meaning a copy of the game isn't still in your PC. Piracy is theft and/or being a culprit of theft.

Its alright I am used to people making bad decisions with their money, not buying a vita is just another example of this.

Add in PS+ and you now have an awesome handheld with a ton of free games and more to come every month.

Sony could also help out the system by dropping the price, I mean Nintendo had to suck it up too and drop the price. 199 would sell a lot more systems but honestly making the system the system the same price as a 3DS would work. Make it 219 with a year of PS+ and a 4 GB memory card to compare with the 3DS XL.

That would fix all of this.

No it wouldn't. Maybe it would fix 50% of the problem, but not all.

Mass market games will help to fix (or as close as you can to fix) the Vita. Also an ounce of marketing would be good for it.

First off who goes to Walmart to buy video games and consoles?

And second, it's obvious this guy doesn't know how to sell the thing. Since the start of 2013 I've probably sold 25+ Vitas (I work at Best Buy). If you've owned a Vita and know the ins and outs of the console it's actually a pretty easy sell, the only thing that makes it hard is the overpriced memory cards.

Out of curiosity, how many 3DSes have you sold this year?

Proabably a little less than 40. In between the release of Luigi's Mansion and Animal Crossing though I sold maybe 3, it was really weird since the start of the year was really strong for the 3DS at my store.

Of course. 25 + Vitas but less than 40 for 3DS.... Especially since NPD data shows that the 3DS outsells the Vita 11 to 1. Sorry but I'm sceptical.

Sony pissed me off last E3 with the lackluster Vita announcements, and they pissed me off even more this year. Multiplats? Multiplat indie games, and multiplat...PHONE games!? You're kidding me! Now, there are a few titles that pique my interest, but not nearly enough for me to pay the $250 entrance fee.

It's particularly disappointing because the PSP was such an excellent machine. Despite lower sales, it's library was easily a match for the DS's.(from what I've seen) If this persists, I'll be going exclusively with the 3DS this gen, as Nintendo at least shows decent support for their handhelds. Which is just as well, because, thanks to BC, I'll be able to catch up on all those DS titles I missed out on last gen.

I don't understand how the PSP is selling but the Vita isn't.

Even though it may not end up being a mainstream success, I hope developers still support it with some hardcore games. Especially JRPGs, because there is definitely a fanbase there.

Can't really say it doesn't deserve it but Sony seems to not care about it.

My local Walmart's video game section is very poorly handled and very small. I don't think video games are good business for Walmart. I mean who buys video games at Walmart? The only time I did was when I tagged along shopping with my parents. So yeah, that was like Nintendo 64 days/early PS2.
