Forums - Sony - TLOU - the best looking console game (SPOILERS)

Tagged games:

idk, in my opinion GoW3 was a damn good looking game. TLOU is too, but idk, maybe its the big ass boss fights in GoW that made it better for me. idk, i havent finished TLOU yet either.

Red Dead looked incredible on x360, i never really played it much on ps3.

I would agree 100% if we were going by parts of the game, its a big game though and its a beautiful game.
My game of the generation

I think for what they are trying to do and the amount of detail they put into the game, it is arguably the best 7th gen console game that I'm putting together with Mario Galaxy 2 ATM on my personal scale. Naughty Dog did a very good job, unfortunately, best looking has a lot to do with personal taste, so I can only judge by the actual game overall. :P

You are putting a HD game with realism in the same group with a SD cartoon game ?

Third best.

Uncharted 2 and 3 still look better I'd say.

Honestly, this still impresses me more than anything I've seen for PS4 or X1 so far:

It is very detailed and stunning to just watch. I love walking around in the last of us and seeing things.
But there are games that look 'better'. Maybe not that detailed, but more photogenetic, like crysis 3 for instance

Yeah? I said as games, graphics are different per person. They are also direct opposites in game design which makes it even more merry.

It does set the mood very well and it sure is a really good game. Textures and geometry are only just above average though. In technical terms it's not even in the top 10 of this console generation.

According to Digital Foundry, in "technical terms", it's up therw with the best-of-the-best (bettering everything on consoles in some areas). After personal time with it, I'm inclined to take their word.

Did you finish it by the way? Havent heard your opinion I think o.o

Getting there. It's so good, I didn't want to beat it really fast. It betters Heavy Rain regarding emotion. I never expected that.

Ah okay. The end parts are rather insanely beautiful :P

Having actually sat down and played a few hours now, I have to disagree with the OP. If anything, it's showing me that the PS3 is getting old. I find that both Uncharted 2 and 3 have better visuals, same goes for a few racers.

It is a stunning game considering the hardware, but therein lies the problem; one has to consider that the hardware is really outdated. I am baffled at the quality and life ND are getting out of the archaic chipset though, truly amazed.

It gets much better mid to late however. Keep playing.
