Ummm...it would actually be worse if Gamestop pulled preorders because of something else.
Notice he doesn't say "Gamestop has stopped preorders because they are sold out". That would've been a terrific opportunity to spin some PR.
The fact is, Gamestop has systematically stopped preorders.
You don't stop preorders. You keep them coming, and you ask for more. In turn, MS releases a report saying they are increasing their projections, just like Sony did, and up production.
If there are no problems with production, and gamestop has stopped taking preorders, and production hasn't increased, then yes, there is a bigger problem than low yields....in theory anyway.

Rumors are pointing to low yields though...twitter isn't exactly considered official.

As an anecdote, last night walking home, I got an email on my phone from gamestop telling me to preorder a ps4. No mention of xone.

I replied that I already got one preordered from BestBuy because they only require $25 down and won't oversell and are not the devil.

They didn't stop taking pre orders online even after their 8AM site update. SO again there are no issues. The thing is Their online bundles are no longer Day One SKU's. So like I said it is most likely their Day One SKU being pulled only to eventually be replaced with a regualr SKU.

If there was a supply issue or bickering going back anf forth the SKU's online ould be pulled.

There is a big diffeence in online orders in GameStop compared to store orders.

Store orders needs to be delivered by the Store... online orders can hold and be delivered by warehouses not the store itself.

So online stores makes no impact in Store low supply... Store orders makes.

I "overheard" a conversation on FB about this, and it seems Gamestop has stopped taking pre-orders due to incredibly low stock. SONY has provided them with far more units. The person saying this is apparently a manager at a local Gamestop and has been in constant communication with others stores and they have been saying the same thing. In a store the difference was 60 PS4 to 10 XBOX 1's.

In other words, the PS4 has more pre-orders because there is more stock available.

There are some over at GAF saying that maybe Microsoft is supplying Amazon with more units and given Gamestop limited quantities.

so no yield-problems? good.
