Even if we're talking until the last unit is sold well into the next gen....no. I think more like 50mil worldwide or maybe even 60mil if you wanna be real optimistic.

well if you think logically it would be almost impossible for the 360 to reach 50

million in america. its been two years and the 360 has only sold 10 million in

america, at this rate it would take another 8 years for it to reach 50 million.

and the next microsoft console is coming out in roughly 3-4 years. mean ing it

will reach 30 max. and thats assuming that the sales will increase. if near the

end of the 360's life the sales start to drop, which will happen then 30 million

is a bit optimistic. as for the rest of the world, the 360 willl probably not reach

2.5 million sales in japan. and probably 15-20 million in other. so to answer your question, no and definitely no.

PS3 behind 4 mln. BUT MGS4, FFXIII, GT5, KZ2, GTA4 and other BIG games to be released.
x360 is 7 mln. behind, and all it has is GTA4.

Now 100 mln. WW, i really don`t think x360 will pass 2 mln. in Japan.
So, 98 mln. in USA + Others? =))) Even PS2 couldn`t do that after 7 years, YET. Why x360 would? =))

It could.
Remember it will have a ten year sales life.
And we haven't got into the meat of the sales yet which come after it is reduced in price to be an impulse purchase.
The main decider will be the war with PS3. If Microsoft win this convincingly then they have a chance of doing those numbers.

Also remember that the market in established console nations will be much bigger than it was for PS2 because of the broadening game playing demographic. And new nations like India and China are coming on stream. These have enormous potential over trhe next 7+ years for the 360.

The Wii probably has, but if the 360 and the PS3 had, they'd have sold loads more by now, especially since those that make up this broadening demographic are adults and have the cash to put down for it. Also; India and China won't be major factors in this gen imo, even PC sales are a bit slow there yet, even though China wil surpass the US as the nation with the most internet users this year. Japan and Korea (and Thailand to a certain extent) are mad about western products and influence, China and India are definately not.

And besides; in 7+ years the 360 will be a non factor for these markets anyways. If you're analysis holds true and these nations take on buying game consoles because of increased wealth and broader market horizons, they won't be buying last gen machines at any rate. Also; the meat of the sales at almost ludicrous low prices for the last box was really nothing to shout in the streets about... I do think the 360 will be moving software for ten years, but the console itself will have a significantly shorter life cycle than that I believe.

 10 years? WHAT???? Isn't that only for PS??? 10 years is WAAAY too long. Even the next Wii will have come out and have better graphics than the 360 has in 10 years

40 million tops. right now, more than 60% of Xbox 360 sales are in NA and things are only going down in Others. If the PS3 can win over the violent American gamers in 08 with its slew of FPSs, the 360 will be lucky to make 30 million LT sales
