Forums - Nintendo - Call of Duty: Ghosts might not hit Wii U after all

Cancelled, possibly, but i think that would be dumb on Activision's part. Ghosts on Wii U is at least guaranteed to do a little better than Blops II, and since they've already done engine porting work, it would be silly not to pull the trigger if they've already done the work. It would, at least, pay for itself and probably bring in some money on the side

With Rayman, it was an issue of Microsoft's demands against late ports. With Crysis, it's EA being EA. Both issues are not at play here.

Perhaps. At the same time, I don't know what up-front costs are involved in bringing this sort of product to market. Production, packaging, and shipping, obviously, but there may be other factors. And really, if they can expect their game to bring in something like 20 million units between Sony and Microsoft systems, is it really worth their time to release it on a platform that will probably show them about one-hundredth of that?

As far as Rayman goes, I thought that was rumored/debunked?

If it brings in profit, even at a paltry 200,000 sales, it is worth it.

The question would be "is that money better spent on more promotion/DLC for the other versions?" But when you've already made the game, it just makes more sense to commit.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Sounds like they probably have an early build, but are still toying with whether or not to go through with it.

no complaints here...

Well Activision you dont deserve money anyways so bye bye.

I mean COD3 sold almost the same on Wii as it did on 360 (back in 06 where I guess there were more 360s than Wiis out there) and it sold better on Wii than on PS3. You abandoning Wii and not having ModernWarfere = no COD BOOM on Nintendo hardware. Bringing it out 2 years to late didn't help.

Your own fault.

The PS3 version of Black Ops just sold twice as good (console:sold games ratio) as the WiiU version. Even tho the WiiU version lacked some features and has no community compared to the big community on the PS3 version where your IP is already established.

Now you want to abandon WiiU? Have fun being dumb a second time!

We'll wait and see. This title is a must-have for me. It seems like it's probably on based on his comments, which he is trying to cover now.

That point about other versions is rather key. It makes sense to me that they'll be investing all of their resources to try and grow audiences on next-gen consoles. However, if they think that audiences on the Wii U won't appreciably grow their interest, it might not make sense to invest more money into it when it could be better spent elsewhere. Or perhaps there are issues with the Wii U version that they'd need to iron out, and are simply unsure of whether its worth the effort.

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

Noes, it must come! Call of Duty: Dogs would go great with Super Mario: Cats! D:

If it's coming, why not just announce it? What is the mystery here? The only logical assumption is what Aielyn said. They probably started development but are not sure if they will release the game or not, so they would rather not announce just to cancel it further down the road, only to get more shit from Nintendo fans, like if they would not announce it and silently end the development.

This "weird" announcement procedure has happened previously with Call of Duty games.
