Forums - Gaming - Do you still play your old games? How much replay value can a game have?

I play through the Spyro the Dragon trilogy at least once a year. Normally it takes me that long to forget about them, then I put them in again and just have a blast. Crash Bandicoot regularly gets replayed, too.

I've also rebought a few HD Collections to play through again, and they're the type of games that I'm going to be playing far into the future, too (i.e. Jak & Ratchet).

Command & Conquer games often get revisited by me (particularly Tiberian Sun), as well as Age of Empires 2.  The Sims 2 as well.

Plenty of stuff other than that: I revisit SSX 3 often; Final Fantasy VII and VIII get multiple play-throughs; Future Cop LAPD is a game I often re-visit; Populous: The Beginning; any old WipEout or PS1 Ridge Racer title.

Long story short, anyway: yes. I love revisiting old games. I don't even consider early-in-this-gen games old enough to have been "revisited" yet.

Tiberian Sun is soo underrated. It's my favourite C&C game after Red Alert 1.

AoE 2 is one of those legendary games as well. I wich I could play it without it freezing or having to buy the remake on Steam.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Yes. In fact, for a long time up until the spring of this year (which is when I got a new computer and finally started using Steam), the bulk of my gaming time was taken up by Virtual Console games (primarily NES/SNES titles), Mario Kart Wii and Brawl, and a couple of select PS1, PS2 and PC games that have aged well. Particularly Warcraft III, Impressions Games' city-building games, and most of the stuff by Naughty Dog and Insomniac during the two console generations.

Heroes of Might & Magic, Civilization, Betrayal at Krondor, Baldur's Gate games etc, so much fun year after year!

You ever play Return to Krondor? I've gone through Betrayal a whole stack of times, but for whatever reason I've never even given Return a go.

@bold Impressive never heard anyone praise that game. I had a lot of fun with it facing off against my brother in its local multiplayer mode. And going throught campaign coop was fun.

I play Mario Party 2 and Mario Kart 64 an hour or two a month on average, bought them pretty much day 1.

Right now I'm trying to finish off all my 360/Wii games so I can get a WiiU without any Wii backlog, and finish my 360 games before the system breaks.....again. After that I'll probably be working on a bunch of SNES/N64/PS1/2/3 games I haven't beaten. However I only regularly play some of my N64 games.

I used to play Mario Party 2 and MK64 more frequently, I would say that I have well over 1,000 hours in each of them easily.

Yes, it's a decent game with a relatively advanced UI and gameplay for its time, much like the first Vampire: The Masquerade title. It places somewhere between Betrayal at Krondor and Betrayal in Antara in quality in my opinion.

Be warned though, it hasn't aged well at all and has none of the retro charm of the other two, especially the first one and it might be a chore to play it today.

What is old?? I still play GT5 occasionally and some fighters when relatives and friends are over. Left 4 Dead 2 is after 4-5 years still a game that I really like to play.

There are also some games that released a decade ago and I still enjoy to play. Age of Mythology (I can still play that for hours straight on my laptop) and C&C Generals
