Forums - Nintendo - Bayonetta 2

Nobody should complain.. The game will do fine since the install base should be over 10 million by the time it releases and since it's a Nintnedo funded exclusive they can actually take time to polish the game which is consistant with Nintendo development.  Remember how much the ps3 versus lacked polish?  This game will be much better because of the parternship with Nintendo.

Are people still upset about Nintendo exclusivity? Just be thankful for the sequel if you love the original so much.

Anyway, I'm very excited for the game. Just played the original on X360 and loved it. Despite being overlong and suffering from some screen tearing, it was an excellent game. Hack and slash at its finest.

As far as sales go, I expect something in the vicinity of 500,000. But I think Nintendo expects as much. A console is judged by its entire library, not just its top-sellers. Bayonetta 2 is one of those games that makes a library more diverse and interesting, even if it doesn't sell millions.

I'll break it down for you.
-Some QTE are insta death if you fail them.
-Camera can be a problem at times.
-Bosses can get repetative and kinda break the flow of the game.
-You can only start out on normal mode when you first play the game.
-Most of the accessories can only be unlocked after playing the game multiple times
-Accessories cost a crap ton.
-Witch time does make the game a bit easy, but there are some enemies that completly negate witch time.
-Some cutscenes last way too long.
-Story is confusing and pretty bad.
-If you have the PS3 version, there are going to be some framerate chugs here and there.

It's still a game that I would recommend, but I would advise you to skip most of the cutscenes.

I honestly don´t think the first games has (m)any faults at all aside from some technical problems on the PS3 (30fps, muddy textures, tearing)...

and it is dirty cheap, do yourself a favour and try it out, it is the true sequel to Devil May Cry....

PS: It is not very long, you can complete it in 6-8 hours, but there is a lot to unlock !

i do think it's going to do poorly. The original only sold a little under 2million units. I really don't think most of the people that played the 1st one own a wii-u. I also feel like alot of people who bought a wii-u never played the 1st one and won't be inclined to pick up a sequel. Hope i'm wrong. It would be pretty entertaining to see a publisher sell a game that few others found potential in. I'll buy it when i get a wii-u, but that's not probably for another year/year and a half.

N4G. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

This.

Bayonetta 2 will not go to other platforms. Its impossible unless nintendo allows it (wich wont happen). Nintendo is funding the development so theres no chance for the game to be ported elseqhere. It this game flops its the end of the series. The series was already over when SEGA cancelled this game. Nintendo is the only reason why its still going.

With that said, i recently played the first game and its full of problems. They have much to fix if they want this to become a proper system seller.

They reuse the same assets alot. Stages and bosses are doubled during the game. The balance is all over the place. You can be in the middle of a combo on a mob and that mob says whatever and attacks you. The camera is always in a bad position, even if you manually change it it always seems to spin into a bad angle where off-screen mobs will attack you without you seeing. Many cinematics were not animated and were voiced screenshots (due to lack of funding im guessing) but they still made a 5m dancing video at the end. 1/3 through the game the same button for dodge is used for panther/sprint transformation, wich doesnt let you spam a few dodges to get bullet time, wich is essential to beat the game.

The core itself, the gameplay was good but the game had many sources of frustration and presentation inconsistancies that need to be fixed.

Show me some examples. Sound like fakeboys to me.

Yeah, okay, fanboys aren't real, everyone is a rational adult.  I guess I forgot.  Seriously, you're telling me you never see fanboy posts?  Honestly?  If you say so.

While there is no way in hell I'm going to go looking for examples, I do remember this post from a few days ago.  I'm not going to name names, obviously, but here is a quote--"One of the most amusing things to me in regards to videogames is to go on a fieldtrip with 2nd graders. They will often discuss videogames , and when they do what do they talk about? Call of Duty, Halo, God of War and Grand Theft Auto, etc. The "mature" hardcore share their gaming tastes with 8 year old boys, who think the blood and gore of God of War is extremely awesome."

As far as the graphics thing goes, if you're telling me that you haven't seen fanboys who try to convince us that the continual improvement of graphics is a bad thing, then I simply do not believe you.

Regardless, this has seriously gone off-topic and I'm going to leave this line of discussion alone.

The COD/Halo/GTA bashing I've seen hasn't been attacking the fact that they have M-rated content per se, but more attacking the attitude that this somehow makes them better than E-rated games, attacking people's motives for preferring it, or saying they rely too much on violence or sexual content, which is not quite the same as saying "all mature games automatically suck!"

Likewise, while I've seen plenty of people complain that devs focus too much on graphics to the detriment of other elements of the game, I don't think I've ever seen somone say, "Gee, I wish the Wii U wasn't more powerful than the Wii. The PS4 sucks because it's more powerful than the PS3."

1. Are you talking about small bosses or the huge ass bosses? theres a difference

2. like most games with different difficulties

3.Witch time is disabled in climax difficulty (i dont remember very well but you can only activate it with an accesory but thats limited)

4.Story is not perfect, its hard to understand but its good

I recommend the first game to gow/dmc/ng/los fans. Bayonetta 2 should be as good as the first

Personally, I found only very minor flaws, (some screen tearing, a few harsh QTEs) in what was othewise a spectacular game.
