Because, y'know, they don't have to be installed and tied to an account to be useable? They have to be useable whenever, wherever. Like they've pretty much always have been. I didn't know steam sold physical copies and did this same bullshit with them, I admit that. But It's not OK on either. It's idiotic.

Finally!  Some consistency from someone!  Thank you!  You have no idea how refreshing it is to see this.  People have been SO unwilling to criticize Steam for having some of the same policies that they are criticizing Microsoft for now; they've just been bending over backwards to make sure Steam doesn't take any flak.  You and I are going to disagree on the standards we hold for digital vs. physical, but you've definitely earned my respect for being consistent in holding Steam and Microsoft to the same standard on how they handle physical discs.

It's the internet, I'm afraid. Double standards are extremely abound, as is unexplainable love for steam... I don't participate in it much =P

So really I hope this works great and Sony has to conform. Watch many publishers give exclusive games to MS. It's going to happen.

Gamers are speaking.  Preorders are 20 to 1 for the PS4.   NO ONE wants the XBONE.  And guess what?  Developers and Publishers go where the gamers are.

Even now, the PS4 has 69 announced games to the XBONE's 51.

Only thing more likely to happen, is Microsoft will fail so bad with this consoles, they may opt to exit the console business to focus on their Windows obsolescence problem.

PS4 and used games are here to stay for the 8th gen...no doubt about that.

Err no. any game you own on PS4 (including ones bought off PSN (i.e. not PSN+ freebeies) are yours to play forever. If your account gets permabanned the only thing you can;t do is play online, all the offline content is yours forever.

It matters not at all that you have been banned for piracy. If you legitimately own some games then you should still be able to play them.

What the MS thing is like is if you get thrown in prison for stealing a car, the courts also take away your house even though you bought your house through honest means.

MS's action in this is immoral regardless of the reason for the ban, and it doesn't matter that the reaso for the ban was because the person being banned was behaviing immorally. that basic life lesson that ever 3-year old is taught is being violated: two wrongs don't make a right.

There's also that other principle: the punishment should fit the crime.

You could even say MS is engaging in theft. I'd like to see that ToU condition challenged in court. But you could say people willing to sign up to these controlling conditions have no excuses.

And we don't want those types of people jumping on to PS4.

PS4's the one with more games without DRM....and no, there's nothing EA can do about it, because EA's in fairly bad to mediocre shape themselves....that's why they keep firing CEOs.

Maybe I see many Software giants crashing hard from people just straight being cheap. I don't have a issue with  the Internet. I have had it 10 years and I will the rest of my life.  Plus I always buy new.

Why is EA in bad shape, because of used and pirated games. Or they would be profitable.

As for XB One, when they eventually shut down the servers for XB One, be it 15 or 25 years after the initial debut, will our games work? We won't be able to connect online every 24 hours....
