Microsoft is taking pot shots at Nintendo's advertising attempts by attempting to advertise to those waiting in line at the E3 Wii U events.

A few weeks ago it was revealed that Nintendo would start a promotion in collaboration with Best Buy to help players interested in the new Wii U games to be able to play them even if they weren’t attending E3. These events have been very popular, but it seems like Microsoft is playing foul and trying to poach people interested in the Wii U.

Multiple reports have come in of Microsoft employees hanging around the Wii U kiosks at select Best Buy’s, talking to those who are waiting in line about pre-ordering an Xbox One. It’s interesting to see Microsoft try to use guerrilla advertising to try and sway those who might be interested in their competitor’s consoles, when those consoles are capable of more things than the current Xbox One. Microsoft’s own advice to those who want to play an Xbox without an internet connection is to “buy a 360.”

M$ is sooo evil

I can't imagine this action doing anything but pissing the people waiting in line off.

I mean this is bad and worth mentioning, but it is like the third thread about the same thing.

Ugh, I use to work at best buy, this is not some cordinated effort by microsoft to ambush nintendo events. Best buy has reps from companies, like microsoft, in their stores all the times. They are there to inform the employees and interact with customers.

People writing these articles or complaining about microsoft have no idea how best buy works. Best buy has nintendo and sony reps come into their stores too. The microsoft reps probably didnt even know the nintendo events were happening until they got there and just did their job while they were there. This is not a story people!

If this happened to me I would tell the guy to fuck off. I'm normally polite, but this is crossing a line.
