Forums - Microsoft - The non-Halo three million plus seller. The 360 should be proud

I agree MS is kicking butt with the software sales and the high sales of COD4 and AC (both PS3 and 360 versions) are an awesome indicator for both consoles as well.

It means if you put the effort forth, and make a well polished game nowadays, people WILL buy it.

as for GTA4, i just have a feeling it wont do as well as i first imagined, maybe its just that nagging feeling and i should ignore it, But for some reason i think it wont set the records people think it will (on either console).

But i do hope i'm wrong.

As for 360 hardware sales, even though the 2nd year wasnt as amazing as the first year (in terms of overall sales) i still think they're in a great position as they continue to move lots of software.

in the US market the PS3 will have a hard time catching up and MS needs to exploit that as much as they can so sony doesnt make any in roads in their home turf.

Europe is a bit of a toss up as the PS3 is gaining ground there, and since i'm not european i really cant speak on their tastes in games and what not, but mS does need to kick it up a notch so sony doesnt catch or surpass them there

as for japan, maybe 3rd times the charm?

How dare you change the theme of my topic!

I think the reason for the COD/Ass Creed sales are mainly based on Region. Call of Duty is definitely more for the American crowd, and that's where the 360 is King.

EU sales of CoD 4 are basically identical between the platforms, but in the US the 360 one sold about 3x as much (with the PS3 having about equal sales in both territories)

EU sales of AC  were about equal (with PS3 taking the edge), but in the US the 360 one nearly sold 3x as much (with there being more sales in Europe for the PS3)

Bascially, the number in Europe are the same for AC and CoD (with AC having the edge), it's just that more americans bought cod than AC for the PS3, but the balance is the same

360 is a monster with software espeacially in NA,and ofcourse it will get more 3m sellers

What deserves to be there?

GOW and COD 4 certainly

Forza.... No

Assasins Creed... ah yeah i like it but higher than expected, but deserves its spot.

Bioshock and Crackdown i feel should be on that list.

what will get there? obviously sequels to COD, AC and GOW. GTA maybe Fable and Halo Wars

so from xbox having 2 to 360 having potentially 9 in 3 years (the 5 already there + GTA, Fable Halo Wars and GOW 2 if out this year)

360 will have a 10* increase (20 games to sell over 3m)

very good for it..

@Townzy

Halo Wars won't cross 3 million....trust me on this

don't excpect the FPS halo crowd to suddenly buy an RTS

Crackdown SHOULD be on that list.

Mass Effect has an outside shot: I think it's being undertracked in the US (it sold 1m in the US/Canada by December)

Rockband will most likely get there since it's such a huge game.

Same for Guitar Hero 3. Somehow it's still tracking good.

We should see Fable 2 and Halo Wars hit the 3m mark, as well as GTAIV.

More importantly, the X360 is almost past the Xbox's 1m seller list.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
