Forums - Gaming - Anyone else really impressed with Ubisoft at E3?

The entire conference except for The Division was garbage. When conferences got boring or there was no conference, I was playing Wild ARMs on the Vita. So I watched Ubisofts conference up to The Crew, and I was like, man this sucks, so started playing Wild ARMs again. Glanced up at The Division and at the time really didn't look so good until the end of it, so later I rewatched it and liked it.

I think EA, Sony, and Microsoft had the best presentations.  Although Sony screwed up by having third party footage.  The Ubisoft crap in their conference sucked.  Watch Dogs is amazing, but that bs video that looked part life like, part CG took way too long and it was nothing more than a FMV.  Assassin's Creed?  Fu** Assassin's Creed.  Sony's conference could have been a lot better if they showed us some new games like Microsoft did and not games we've already seen before, aside from Final Fantasy 15, KH3, and Destiny which was the only new footage we saw, although FF15 and Destiny are games we already knew of.  If it wasn't for Jack Tretton, the Sony show would have lost to Microsoft's and EA's.

Watch_Dogs: Yes, it looks great, but it looked great last year too.
Blacklist: Splinter Cell used to be great, and now it's become yet another generic action game.
ACIV: Black Flag: This could still go either way. AC3 was hugely disappointing, and I haven't seen anything especially impressive from Black Flag.
The Division: This looks like a generic TPS with a generic action storyline to me, but I haven't seen anything beyond the E3 demo.

That's only one impressive game for me.

Plus, Aisha Tyler was awful this year. So I felt like it was by far the weakest of the five conferences.

I think UbiSoft is right now one of the few game publishers that still gets its target audience. Aside from their DRM fiascoes, they haven't done much wrong so far - admittedly, WHERE IS BG&E 2?! -. AC games are as good as can be expected of a yearly release - with their fair share of haters cuz hey...popular, right? -, they have a few new IPs that seem to be quite healthy for the long run, they have something for the casual market.

Go go Ubi. We still need some publishers that won't forget where their bread lies.

screw everything else, watch dogs looks amazing. probably the best yet-to-come game announced.

rayman, south park, AC:BF, and the division is just gravy.

ubi is definitely my favorite of the mega-publishers.

You didn't watch their conference, did you? It was terrible. By far the worst one this year. Actually, it was so damn bad that the first hour managed to sour the big reveal at the end.

But yes, Watch Dogs, The Division, and Rayman Legends look absolutely stunning.

I've said in other posts in this thread that I didn't watch their conference and that I was referring to how good Watch_Dogs and The Division looked, not much else.

The main summary of this thread:

1. Everyone hated Ubisoft's conference, which I did not watch
2. Mostly positive feedback for Watch_Dogs and The Division
3. Everyone hated the host at Ubisoft's conference
4. I forgot Rayman
5. Did I mention that I didn't watch the conference but I heard the host was awful?
6. Not enough South Park.

only reason i watched ubisoft was to get news of the game i wanted so much and i saw it!

"Nagasaki fart" South Park all the way shit i cant wait for that!

I've always been impressed with Ubisoft. Splinter Cell Chaos theory and Beyond Good & Evil are by far their finest works.
