Forums - Microsoft - MS: "You can have 6 consoles, with 6 games being played by 6 people

This makes the DRM worth it in my opinion. Not even Steam allows this, right?

could somebody please answer my question?!

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

it doesn't matter, despite being 499, despite having this horrid used game policy, the xbox one is almost toe to toe with ps4 pre orders in the U.S, microsoft has a huge hold in the US market

Holding even with Sony in Microsoft's strong area is not good for Microsoft.  As it is now, they lose Asia and also Europe.  They would be down to being even in one region?  That is not good for Microsoft.  They need to do something here to change that.

They need something here? This is a big something. MS should come out with their own sharing video where the 2 people areplaying the same game with one disc.

Why the hell didn't they tell us this at E3? It would have tipped the balance IMO.

Again people are getting too excited it will be up to the publishers in which games they allow to be shared by ten listed family members

Ok new to this topic. Can someone give me a rundown of how this works?

I haven't a clue and I've read the OP.

So basically, you let other people into "share program" with 1 game, and then that person can play the game while you're logged in into the internet with your Xbox but not playing the same game as the one your friend is sharing?

So you have to be online with the Xbox on for people to share your games?

So I bought my XBox One with Ryse and Quantum Break.
A "family member" bought Forza and CoD Ghosts.

Can I play "his" Forza while he is playing "my" Ryse?
That is all I have to know.

Yes. On that all of us would agree.

I understood it as I can play my game WITH one person in my share family of 10 simultaneously and the the other 9 in my family have access to the rest of my library but only one of them at a time can play any game I have.

@ superchunk, you seem stone cold certain that this isn't the case, are we all guilty of looking at the same thing and seeing what we want? I ask because you seem like an intelligent enough person as do J_Allard and starcraft but you guys are seeing it way different. There is a big difference between not being able to play simultaneously with one person and being able to do so.

It simply makes no sense to allow you to share, simultaneously, a single game on separate consoles.

Basically that is MS allowing limited piracy as more than one person has full rights to the game at the same time. Its like you gave one floating copy.

I don't see any publisher accepting this.

It also directly contradicts what the OP final tweet states/implies.

Has MS made this too confusing at first? yes. But, I feel those of you thinking this is true will be very upset come November. (or earlier as this is finally clarified at some point my an MS executive vs a random support person on twitter)

I can't believe people are getting so excited over this feature when NONE of us even knows how it works exactly. The fact alone that there is so much confusion about this on the internet right now without any real concrete verification or explanation of the matter should be a red flag for any half-rational person.

I think MS's strategy was to be ambiguous until Sony laid out all their cards. Which may have backfired somewhat, but if MS' policy is accurate, will likely blow over by the time of realease as it's a pretty nifty thing.

"Sony laid out all their cards."

Problem is, we don't really know what we are going to get in the sharing realm in terms of Sony and the digital space... We just know their exact stance on Physical Games.

They could potentially drop a service near identical to this for Digital, still have their DRM free Physical Copies, and blow Microsoft right out of the water, again... We just don't know at this point.
