THQ went bankrupt because they overestimated the market for their little drawing tablet by several million units, not because of used games.

At £429 because of Kinect. Is that what they tell themselves to feel better about these policies. Ok. Maybe launching at £380 at most would have reduced the burden for me atleast. Can't speak for everyone

When was this interview? I don't think he's paying attention to amazon, either that or the normal
Ms lies.
well they are going for the future, maybe microsoft can afford to do it

Come on. CoD having the biggest entertainment launch, and making 1 billion dollars in 2 weeks certainly isn't enough. We really need to block used games!!!

I'm not surpised they are doing it right now.. better now then when we are mid gen.. These consoles are going to last 8 to 10 years.. 10 years ago we went nuts when they started to charge for multiplayer..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)
Confusing as Consumers have said they dont want it, Retailers dont want it, and now even publishers say they dont want it, although i feel EA are just trying to distance themselves now theyve seen the consumer fury.

Yet consumers speak louder with their wallets.. did Itunes music failed because of the DRM? Are people complaining they can't sell their smartphone apps? did Sim City not sell 1.5 million copies? Did we stop buying games with online passes? How is steam doing when we can't sell our steam games? Don't people use software like Adobe Creative Cloud.. which is a monthly subscription for the Photoshop software? We also didn't want to pay for multiplayer 10 years ago..
MS is pretty right when they say In a broader set of community, people don't pay attention to a lot of the details..

I'm not totally against DRM but this PR fiasco by Microsfot and the inability to sell their product and inability to read the market trends is baffling. As a former Xbox fanboy who went through many years of disappointments and public ridicule it upsets me.
They're so out of touch. Their leadership is incompetent.
It's the same kind of PR they had when they tried to sell Windows Phone and Surface in the past year, and both those products failed horribly.
He is saying "In a broader set of community, people don't pay attention to a lot of the details. We've seen it in the research, we've seen it in a lot of the data points.".
Yes, it's true that the broader market is somewhat ignorant, but it also follows trends and opinions that are determined by the dedicated and passionate core market. How can they not see how detrimental this backlash is and how it sets up their product for total failure?
They've made so many mistakes.
Kill their core gamer reputation by chasing the casuals with motion control and family entertainment.
Trying to sell an expensive TV box to.... to whom? To a market that doesn't exist. (people already have TV broadcast and cable and they can enjoy it on their TVs)
Trying to one-up Apple pre-emptively by selling an entertainment box (you can not one-up Apple, not if you are Microsoft. The living room won't be conquered until Apple says so).
Trying to implement publisher-friendly DRM features and see publishers get cold feet and distance themselves from MS.
Embracing the role of the evil corporation when they already have the worst reputation in the whole entertainment and electronics world.
Trying to market their product with illusions and features without true value, like "power from the cloud", superfluous social connectivity features and controlling TV with voice and gestures.
The writing is on the wall. Xbone is yet another unsuccessful product by MS.
