1 this was annouced back when they realsed the FAQ

2 i think the example was talked about before they annouced this and it could be refering to someone who isnt on that list

Yes, it could be, or there could be something they aren't telling us.

10 is a very large number of people

oh im srue they havnt told us everything about it   i wouldnt be surprised if you have to have a gold sub,  but i think this is diff then what sony had in the past ms way isnt giving all 10 members the game this sounds more like a free gamefly.  if that made since lol

Seriously, if I can actually run games with 10 friends using whatever we're sharing, and games are only costing 40$ I will buy myself and my friend an xb1.

This will never happen.
Plus we have yet to see what the cloud is going to cost

It's one copy running at a time only.

@ theprof00: ah must've glanced over it

MS should really follow Sony's Vita strategy: released the game both digitally and physically but give the digital version a discount and sometimes with free dlc

Registering to an account is mandatory for all games. Did you not know this? Well sorry to break it to you.

Third party publishers don't HAVE to impose anything because MS is already doing it lol. I don't know who got the idea that publishers would be programming in DRM into xb1 games when MS' entire strategy is to do it FOR THEM lol What are they going to port over? Nonexistant code?

Ten of your friends is unconfirmed. Depending on how this ten friends thing works out, I may actually buy an xb1, but I'll bet there are all kinds of limitations on this.

I was well aware of this.  And as I have stated multiple times in multiple threads, if that is simply a deal breaker for you, sobeit.  But by all accounts it appears that this allows for the enormous advantage of digital game sharing.  And whilst your assertion that the details of this are not confirmed are correct, multiple anecdotal sources are coagulating around the same idea.

And THAT is the ONLY DRM that Microsoft is imposing above and beyond Sony.  Any other grand chasm between their models of restrictiveness is entirely imagined, and a result of what was admittedly good PR by Sony designed to cover their plan to make you pay for online...just like Microsoft.

Looks fake. Let's assume its real though. Do you really think they were planning on lowering game prices? I mean seriously, that's laughable.

That last paraphraph is ridiculous as well. NEWSFLASH: PS4 can do more than just games. Music/TV/Movies. It does all of it that too. It has Netflix, it has Hulu.

Lol, how can the same publisher crying about used games eating their profits (hence the reason for the DRM in the first place) cut prices to $40? That one is a wild dream.

Well, if they do become that and so much more, why not? Imagine they were Cars. One was $10,000 and the other was $11,000. The $10,000 comes with mostly standard perks and a few extras meanwhile the $11,000 car comes with more features, park assist or a warranty... whatever. If you drive, just to drive 5 days a week to and from work the cheaper is for you and that's fine because it's exactly what you want while saving $1000. On the other hand if you use your car to drive anywhere else and features like a better stereo system and leather interior that you'd use, why not? My examples are a little off but hopefully you catch my drift. Pun intended! Anyway.. back to teh gaemz.

Also Kingdom Hearts 3, FF XV and MGS V are now multiplat also... What's next? When games themselves are becoming less of an advantage... Why not? Xbox live is also free for a year at launch, that's $50 made up for probably most gamers straight away! You have your preference though and I certainly respect that, I ask that more Sony fans do the same. (This isn't directed at you.... You alright! )

Cars is a amazing example...

And if the $10,000 car have a 240HP engine and the $11,000 car only a 160HP engine? Remember... I'm a racer car (gamer) so I don't give a shit to park assist.

Did I make the metaphor in the right way?

You have me on that point but bigger engines don't always equal more power. My 4.0 litre 6 cylinder produces 360HP while an aussie V8 Holden Commodore produces a respectable for street standards 335HP... Oh, did I mention my car is Turbocharged? (has near nothing to do with it... I just like to talk about cars.)

The bonuses I mentioned are worth more money and are what's "in", if you did go with the larger engine that is again preference. If the PS4 is 240HP, surely the PC is a $15,000 Audi R8 then... So about 400ish HP? Is that car too powerful?

So you guys never play a movie, watch a TV show, log on to a social media network?

I do all this already. I don't need an Xbox One to be able to do any of that. I'm looking for the next gen of gaming in these news consoles, not things I already have :)

Ditto. But more to the point, how anybody could think the PS4 is somehow inferior to the One for non-gaming tasks (as in the original post) is beyond me when Netflix is not behind a subscription-wall. If anything, the One is the inferior system for multimedia becase it has the same hard disk size but requires the games to be installed on it. That's going to burn a lot of hard disk space and reduce the system's multimedia potential, particularly later in the console's life when gamers get big libraries.

No, I know that. The wording they use is strange though.

"and any one of your family members can be playing from your shared library at a given time."

Is it "any ONE"?

or "anyone"?

"at a given time". This English phrase usually implies a limitation, as opposed to "at any given time", which implies freedoms.

Plus, do you need a platinum account, or a gold, or nothing? You are supposed to be able to play single player without live, so is this a live feature? Is there additional cloud fees?

There's a lot they're not saying, and what they are saying is extremely vague, yet full of promises.

Lol mate the power capabilities of the two 'cars' we're discussing are far from confirmed.

Neither have been independently tested, and one is allegedly capable of calling in an Antonov to help it fly ahead of it's competitor.
