Forums - Microsoft - The Amazing Ryse : Sons Of Rome Thread. Amazing new screenshots

Fight as a Soldier. Lead as a General.

Rise as a Legend.

Take Your Place in History

Embark on a journey of revenge, betrayal and divine intervention:

Ryse: Son of Rome tells the story of Marius Titus, a young Roman soldier who witnesses the murder of his family at the hands of barbarian bandits, then travels with the Roman army to Britannia to seek revenge. Quickly rising through the ranks, Marius must become a leader of men and defender of the Empire on his quest to exact vengeance - a destiny he soon discovers can only be fulfilled much closer to home.

Ryse: Son of Rome presents a cinematic recreation of the Roman Empire in breathtaking detail, from the northern reaches of Britannia, to the Coliseum and the very heart of Rome itself.

Stunning visuals bring every aspect of the Empire to life: Incredibly detailed facial animations add character to the people you encounter, and new CryENGINE features allow for a world unlike anything you've seen on console before.

Become Legendary

Action, adventure and Brutal Realism:

Experience a cinematic adventure that leads you deep into the dramatic world of the Roman Empire. The brutality and intensity of Roman warfare are brought to life in visceral detail, thrusting the player into the chaos of close-quarters combat. See and feel the emotion on your opponent's face! Players have to master sophisticated sword and shield combat techniques to vary attacks and manage multiple enemies, and then finish foes with one of over a hundred brutal final executions.

CryENGINE Unleashed

Witness the power of CryENGINE 3 in full flow on Xbox One. New features like Crytek’s Virtual Camera hardware provide more directorial power than ever before, meaning developers can make lighting, environment and effects changes on the spot to create a more immersive game world. Meanwhile, advanced Vertex Animation combines with numerous other new features to set new standards for facial animation and realism. At every turn, CryENGINE’s power is put to work not just to change what you see on-screen, but how you connect to the action too.

New Ways to Play

Command and fight with Kinect for Xbox One. Optional voice commands allow players to direct attacks and encourage their troops, while motivational cries can turn the tide of a mass battle by rallying troops or focusing attacks. Physical gestures can be used in combination with (or instead of) button presses to launch ranged weapons, or to block with your shield.

Full SmartGlass integration: With the ability to deep link straight into the campaign and launch from SmartGlass, players can jump directly into the experience. In-game DVR lets players review and share the best experiences from their game directly from their tablet. A context-sensitive achievement and help guide will help players unlock secrets along the way, with tips that are synched to their location and situation. Players can manage their character, inventory and upgrades directly from their SmartGlass device, and also get the latest game news.

Amazing gameplay Footage

Will keep the thread updated

The game looked very nice and I doubt it will only consist of QTE. But I also thought it wasn't running really smooth at the conference which could be due to bad stream or an early dev-version. Still looked nice, like a playable 300 or Spartacus :)
Is there even more gameplay-footage or just the one from the official press-stuff?

So it does still have Kinect stuff...

Anyway, the most interesting thing that I have seen is the dev talking on GameTrailers saying that they sped up the combat for the purposes of a gameplay demo which should help avoid the fears of it being a QTE fest. I expect that in its final state it will be akin to GoW in many ways, but the QTEs are there as finishers in the same way, rather than being the bulk of the game

Personally, I quite liked the look and am a bit of a sucker for Roman games (Rome II is one of my most anticipated games this year) so I would certainly buy the game if I had an Xbox One, but it isn't quite a system seller to me

Graphics are phenomenal and it looks really cool and epic, but the gameplay is without any value.

It's simplified almost to the level of Kinect Star Wars. That won't magically change until release.

This game looks solid. I'll certainly consider pick it up sometime shortly after launch.

Unh? The dev said they skipped losdsmof combat to show as much as possible. Word is it plays like god ofmwar. The combat is hack n slashnwith finishing moves.

Unless of course everyone thinks gow 3mis is kinect star wars for 5 hours ofmits gameplay?.....

Ryse is nothing like kinect star wars. The levels are more free roamingnthan gow 3 for example somimdont really know what you mean?

It looked really great until the gameplay started. The gameplay looks very dull, boring and easy. Maybe I'll change my mind when they show more.

I don't like the combat. If QTEs wasn't so frequent it would be much better.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st
