Graphics look amazing and I love the setting! But the gameplay looks very controlled and quite frankly dull :/

The controlled gameplay at E3 was done so to show as much as posible. There is showfloor gamplay in this thread that shows GOW style choice. Wher you dont have to use executions i you dont want to. However I loved them in GOW3 and used them all the time.

i gues if you dont like games like God Of War or Ninja Gaiden or Devil May ry it wont appeal to you.

 

But to those that do it has the potential to be so much better than those. 

1. Over 100 more execution animations than God Of War 3.

2. The ability to move the camera 360 degrees instead of fixedd like Ninja Gaiden and God Of War.

3. Much better visuals than the previous genres games.

4. Immersion. Better animations. Etc

5. Really good setting and istory.

Please don't compare this game to those three franchises... Especially Ninja Gaiden. This game cleary focuses on visuals (which aren't that amazing) over gameplay. Whereas those games focused on making sure both aspects were top notch. Gameplay in this is stale, predictable, and slow-paced. Variables are cut in half thanks to there not being a jump input. This is an amateur hack and slash when looking at it from a technical perspective.

This video will show you how much more superior those 3 franchises are currently over Ryse.

Ok, I get it, they made the E3 Demo to show as much as possible... So... why not show some actual gameplay then?

If I'm not mistaken, we're talking about Crytek here. That same company that goes all about how f2p is the future and AAA games are not worth it and blah. I personally wouldn't be surprised at all if Ryse is about to become a glorified movie. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. You really can't be sure at this point. How should Crytek even come up with a decent hack and slay game? They ain't have any experience at all in that genre. 

I remain skeptical. Graphics look good though, gotta admit that.

That why I used the word "currently." This is based off what I was shown from e3. If somehow this game was more amazing than what I was shown it's not my fault I came to this evaluation, MS shouldn't have demoed the game so poorly. Look at how Nintendo demoed Bayonetta 2. It looked leaps and bounds more interesting than this snorefest of a game.
