Forums - Gaming - Stock market response to Xbox One and PS4 E3

I know Microsoft is a big company with many different focuses, but It's gaming division isn't exactly tiny. So you'd think it's annoucement this E3 would have a positive impact on their stock.

I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.

The gaming division is TINY compared to the rest of the company, basically it would be an idiotic market if anything they announced or presented had any significant impact on share price at E3. MSFT basically tracked with the market for last few days.

Their drops just so happened to coincide with the exact time of their's and Son's E3?

I wonder what Nintendo's stock was like. As a pure gaming company, they would be more easily readable.

The drops correspond with the end of the trading days. The first drop wasn't at the MS E3 it was friday as well. You see a large jump as you move between trading days due to overnight trading on the market which isn't shown on the graph, you will see the same type of jumps if you look at NASDAQ and Dow though generally yesterday MS traded about half a percent below the index.

Nintendo stock has been up and down 5 points out of 100 in the past week.  They are a little bit down today.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

The Msft stock price responds more to the general stock market decline and gains because of the big position they are in. If Dow is having a bad/good day usually Ms does have a bad/good day too whereas Sony has its gaming component being a lot bigger in their company than the EDD division is to Ms? Dow and the nasdaq was down 1% yesterday which is a pretty huge drop and because of that Ms took a hit

MSFT is on track with the market.
SNE isn't, their stocks are going up in comparison with the industrial average. But They will go back down any time soon.

EDIT:

Blue = Dow Jones Industrial average

Green = Microsoft

Blue = Dow

Green = Sony
