The drops correspond with the end of the trading days. The first drop wasn't at the MS E3 it was friday as well. You see a large jump as you move between trading days due to overnight trading on the market which isn't shown on the graph, you will see the same type of jumps if you look at NASDAQ and Dow though generally yesterday MS traded about half a percent below the index.
