Forums - Nintendo - Retro Studios might be working on something else?

Could Retro be working on more then 1 project?

Metroid Prime was the only reason I stuck with Nintendo through the last 2 gens. That's enough disappointment for me. I'll stick to PC gaming this gen.

Considering Prime games sold less than DKCR, it is not a surprise the decision from Nintendo. It's all your fault, you that doesn't bought the Prime masterpiece.
;-;

Hell DKCR outsold all of the Prime games combined. It's something that's hard for me to accept but I would not be surprised if Nintendo decided to shelve the Metroid series indefinitely. That's just how things work in this industry.

No more metroid?...

A very strong possibility. I remember Intelligent Systems saying that had Fire Emblem Awakening not sold more than 250k the series would come to an end.

Indeed possible. Other M was an (perhaps last?) attempt to increase sales, which failed.

Probably. That game recieved multiple price cuts to reach the ammount of sales it has right now, I found it new for $5 on best buy a while back. It only makes me hate the game even more.

Metroid Prime 3 failed to reach the success of the first MP and Other M didn`t do any better to achieve that goal.
No matter how much we fans like it and praise it, at the end of the day, the series was never a priority for Nintendo - or at least isn´t anymore.

Donkey Kong games have a better chance to sell more consoles - which is what Nintendo needs right now.

Do i believe they are holding something back? I do. The question is how far that game is in development: Tropical Freeze comes out this year so at least something has to be in the pipeline.
Seeing as it has been 3 years since DKCR, they can`t be taking that much time to develop a sequel. So there`s the chance of there being something far in development.

I don't think so, to be honest.

Maybe. We don't know enough details about the development process of TF in order to reach a conclusion.

They may have just started working on a DK64 sequel, which got shelved 'cause SM3DW. Or not. I'm just making things up.
