Forums - Nintendo - X's Graphics are just increibly amazing!!

Anyone saying that Red Dead or any other already-released PS360 open-world game looks better... I just don't know what to say.

The Last of Us and Halo 4 are a faulty comparision too. Try to keep comparisons in remotely the same genre, people.

Though I must admit, both games use 2D foliage quite a bit. However, this is common in most open-world titles with a non-tree focus.

The draw distance was great, graphics didn't blow me away but the game looked very pretty (colorful)

It's too early to tell. Need more gameplay vids in 1080p. Whats the real level of detail? It'd definitely looks like it should look better than Xenoblade did but is it FFXIII quality or Star Ocean 4 quality?

Better than FFXIII at least.

you just proved my point, the lighting in red dead is dynamic, the lighting is in X is static, RDR has a huge advantage in lighting, and red dead uses mostly alpha textues on its foilage, unlike x.

Eh. The grass maybe? The sun messes up the X picture pretty hard, I can't see shit. If the sun werent glaring in the middle of the picture maybe id see there is better detail on the stuff in the background? I can't tell. I still need a couple minutes of 1080p video.

You know, they still have over one year to imrpove the game overall. And we don't know the scale yet.

LOL, here comes Ninjablade to tell us about how Crash Bandicoot on the PS1 looks better than X because X doesn't have Crash Bandicoot's high-tech standard definition textures and dynamic non-Nintendo lighting...

Some parts of the trailer looked good, some parts not so much... Its still early, the reason for the inconsistency in graphics.

The trade-off is that there is much more foliage in X than Red Dead. Either way, the 2D foliage does nothing to detract from the experience.

As for dynamic lighting, I'll take a look at some more screenshots for comparision, but X does have quite good shadows. It doesn't appear that every object in Red Dead has a shadow, even, unless my eyes are playing tricks on me. Or it could be that since X's foliage isn't as sparse, it's easier to hide a lack of a shadow.

You're wasting your time trying to reason with him. You could get a code breakdown of both games showing definitively that X is technically more advanced, and he'd still deny it. His whole purpose for being on this site is to bash Nintendo and everything about Nintendo.
