Forums - Gaming - E3 2013 Where were the RPG's!?!

I agree, xbox was very heavy on the shooters as always. Little to no imagination there.

Sadly enough, FFvs13 looks to be action packed also which means more button mashing. Although it looked great and seemingly offered a more intense story than any of the other games I just don't like the action/button mashing.

You totally missed The Witcher 3 from your list, which will be fantastic.

Don't forget Mario & Luigi + (if you consider it, which some people do) legend of zelda.

I did forget to mention The Witcher 3 (VERY VERY PUMPED FOR THIS ONE)

As much as I loved Dark Souls and am looking forward to Dark Souls 2, it feels to me like more of an action/adventure game than an RPG.

And yes Dragon Age 3 will be great, but so little was shown, and it's soooo far away, with no solid release date.

I guess it just seemed like everything was either Shooters or Racers. Those were the games that got the big attention, got the extended demos and stage time. Developers spoke at length about them. But the really interesting new IP of the RPG genre was wither only teased, or briefly glimpsed. I miss the days when THEY were the center stage, the big reveal, the big attention grabber. I'll still play some of the other games, but those genres are just so over done to death. Just felt really let down as an RPG gamer.
