But there's nothing saying we won't still get that down the road, considering how EARLY it is in the Wii U's lifespan. For NOW, Super Mario 3D World looks rather fun. So maybe people can shut the fuck up? Or at the very least contain nerd rage long enough to go play something else. It would be terribly sad to slit any wrists over a video game. |
yeah because your reaction and input has been SO much better, kettle meet pot.
OT I love 3d land. I thought it was the BEST of the 3d games, yeah i know come at me! However, i dont think this will push that much consoles, maybe. I personally will not buy it for this game, but If I do get one eventually ill will buy it for sure.
Didn't read the whole thread, but I loved what they've shown.
It looks cute and hella fun. The catsuit gets separate props, also :)
Were Nintendo fans EVER satisfied?
Edge - "It's fun but workmanlike."
Eurogamer - "It's fun but safe."
I'm sure there are more examples around the internet today, IGN probably called it fun but lazy.
Why is "it's fun but...." a thing?

NO :(.
In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Because we expect a Mario title to push the platform genre and the console.
Mario 3D World did not push anything. It's like NSMBU.

His point, which I wholeheartedly agree with, is that this 3D Mario doesn't have that 'Wow' factor that the first Galaxy had in terms of eye candy. Galaxy could sit side-by-side with a PS3/360 game and not look too out of place. It doesn't look like a current gen game, it looks like something you'd see on the PS3 or 360.
Mario Kart 8, Donkey Kong, X and Bayonetta 2 all look 'next gen', 3D Mario most certainly doesn't.
Nintendo is literally doing the bare minimum game wise.
And they've been doing that the last 4-5 years tbh.
Their serious fans must surely feel a little done in. Don't know how you can be a "Nintendo only" gamer anymore. Latest thing Shigsy said was that the jump to Wii U has been difficult for their studios so that's why things are coming out at such a slow rate, BUT that's completely their own fault for being behind technologically BY 7 YEARS.
| Mandalore76 said: Typical. New Super Mario Bros U comes out, and gamers complain, I didn't want this. I just played New Super Mario Bros. 2 on 3DS. Why couldn't they have made a console version of Super Mario 3D Land? Nintendo listens and makes a console type Super Mario 3D Land and how do gamers react? I didn't want this!! |
NO. Not "Typical".
It's oh-so-very-obvious that there's a lack of epic games on the Wii U and hardly any (seriously, where are they!?) on the horizon. Nintendo used to be at the forefront of quality software output. A 2d platformer here and a handheld-esque platform there is NOT what people are complaining about. They are complaining about the FACT that Nintendo isn't offering the variety of gameplay experiences that one would expect from the designers of Mario 64, Occarina of Time, Metroid:Prime, Mario Galaxy etc. Those are the experiences we want - nay - deserve.
