One third of the world's gamers have done so already it seems. Sony has even raised the amount they were expecting to sell due to the positive pre-orders!

Nop, it's 50 or 60 dollars more (same as DS4)

wth!! so the light bar on the DS4 is useless without the PS4 eye!?!

its not really useless without it, its still used to denote which player you are by color instead of number, and can also be used for ambient light effects, like glowing differnt colors for differnt spells, things like that.

This is exactly what i did and i never pre order consoles, but if sony is going to do the right thing i have to support them and reward that behavior.

Exactly. I've always waited 6 months to several years before buying consoles, but SONY is just laying out the red carpet for my money.
