Forums - Sales - Prediction: PS4 will outsell XBoxOne 2-to-1 in the US and 3-to-1 globally this year.

I think many people are vastly underestimating peoples loyalty to their ACHIEVEMENTS. Brand means nothing to many, however personal accounts and achievements mean a lot. WW sony currently seem to have everything going their way, US I think will still be dominated by Xbox, perhaps even more so this gen.

I really dont see where the praise is coming from. Sony hardly showed any real games, just a bunch on cgi and the games they did show, Infamous and Killzone are from dead franchises... nobody cares about them.

I can see 2 to 1 globally if rumors of supply problems for Xbox 1 is true. If they can get the word out about used games and lower price they might be able to tie in the U.S.A..

Go Team Venture! I still don't get the Wii, PS Move,  and Kinect.

$100 >> ACHIEVEMENTS.  Majority of gamers aren't rich.  I know VGchartz people have multiple consoles, but VGchartz definitely is not representative of the average American consumer.  In fact, I would go far to say that most people that come to video game forums are out of touch with reality in life and money.

It all depends on how sony market the ps4 in the US. The average consumer is ill informed so won't know how many more benefits the ps4 offers to them (used games, cheaper, not always online etc). The Xbox brand name is strong over there so many American consumers will buy the Xbox simply because of the name.

$100 is $100. The average American consumer at Walmart or Target is not going to pay an extra $100 for brand loyalty.

100% true. That was thee main reason the 360 gained so much traction in the U.S. Consumers weren't loyal to Sony back then, and they won't be loyal to MS this Holiday.

I bet Seece, Kowen, and Sales2099 will be loyal.

Oh damn Rol beat me, but yeah I'm not American lol.

And I agree MS need to reevaluate their pricing if they're to be successful. I think they're already fucked in Europe no matter what they do now, but US they won't want to lose.

Hmmm not sure about that. If Sony can even match Xbox sales in the states it would be a huge victory. Their global numbers will crush Xbox, but sales in the US will still favor Microsoft.

I really do not think one gen of dominating in the US means it has to continue in the Us. Just look at Nintendo's rise and Sony's fall from last gen here. The industry leaders can change rapidly and I think it is short sighted and a simple easy guess to say MS forever controls the Us market.

You bring up a good point. I honestly don't know what will happen in the US with PS4 vs Xbone, but based on the huge advantage Xbone had this last gen if Sony were to Tie Microsft in sales in the US they would consider it a huge victory.

It would me an achievement, and I believe it could be very likely. Parents always look for the better deal when buying and it has always been believed the PS3s higher price point held it back the entire gen. I really do not see many people spending an extra $100 for Halo and kinect.

I agree, that was my very thought when Microsoft announced a $499 price point. It just seemed a little much for the casual crowd.

That part is where the catch 22 comes in. It's expensive because of the kinect stuff mostly for the casuals but the same causals wont buy it because it's expensive.

True

Sales, Kowen and a couple others are so transparent, they will defend anything MS does. Anyway, Ps4 will be much closer in the US and dominate the world market x1 has no shot.

So much bias, F2p killer instinct is a system seller? Dead rising was always a second rate franchise, everything else was mainly cgi. Sonys big guns not even announced yet and they have already won.

Ps1 AND pS2 DOMINATED us, SO WHAT HAPPENS 1 gen doesn't always flow over.
