MS made a statement that the kinect will only observe as much as you want it to.

This means all of these discussions/threads are absolutely a waste of time.

Look up PRISM...

I highly doubt their word on that is worth much at all when you have the government legitly and confirmed having a big finger sticking in their pie.

I don't have to look it up. Hating on MS for this is unnecessary - every public statement I've seen in this regard has been highly satisfactory.

- "Xbox ON" is the only string it is looking for whilst in idle state

- the friggin thing is in your living room - not your whole house

- use sticky tape if you're so worried about this

I've made quite a few negative statements towards the Xbone since it's reveal, but it's not necessary to start a whole big brother conspiracy (despite it being so popular at the moment).

Normally I would agree to this, but PRISM is basically a big brother system that has been confirmed and microsoft is the first and largest backer for it.

(with that being said i actually need to stop commenting on PRISM personally because of my job. The information is out there though for anyone to look up now though.)

don't you think some people will find out if kinect will send data and which even if it is on "pause"? shouldn't we wait for those saying what it does before trying to make something out of something else without knowing it? 

the whole thread would be already much better if op and title would be  like "microsoft and prism, will microsoft use kinect for it?" instead as acting as if it is already 100% fact.

doesn't the PS4 come with a camera as well?

Certainly a worrying time, yes. But it doesn't mean that Kinect will be used to monitor people; it's just as likely the PS4 will with its camera. And the Wii U Gamepad has a camera, are we being monitored through that?

I'm sorry, but my head is kinda hurting by how much people don't actually read the OP and also.....don't educate themselves on this subject. I also know a little more than most people on this subject, but I'm not going to really say anything other than look things up or answer questions the OP has already answered.

neh.. then I won't know if they are watching live.. need it to be live for the extra tension.. it's called xbox live for a reason..
