Yes, and this is just the tip of the iceberg. It's only going to get worst from here. Just imagin all the stuff that MS hasn't told us yet..When live is required to play a game at all, I'm going to roll over laughing. Now you no longer own anyhing, it's all renting from MS.

uggg that makes me sick doent give them ideas

Trust me, they've already thought about it. That what they do, extract every last dime from anyone they can.

His point on renting is dead on. Without renting growing up in humble environment there is no way I would have fallen in love with games and so many series (Zelda, Sonic, Mega Man, etc.)

I still rent games all the time and helps me filter purchases. Do a good job like the new Tomb Raider and I go buy you. No way I would have without renting first though.

There are these things called demos in this day and age. They used to be exclusive to PC, but now all handhelds and consoles have them too. For those games without playable demos, you also have free access to dozens of gameplay videos and reviews on the world wide web.

Most demo’s aren’t very good, and they are short and in no way should be a substitute for renting or loaning.

Watched the video and at least he is presenting a coherent point of view, unlike some others...

But listen people, if you wanted the world to work like this guy says it should, you should have voted for communism or socialism as the governing rule of your country.

There is really no room for consideration when it comes to little Timmy and his poor family in capitalism. People do things for profit. Games get made for profit. Gamestop exists to make a profit...

Otherwise pretty much everything this guy is saying is going to contradict itself when next gen market doubles current gen sales, despite "DRM".

Just because everyone likes a game doesnt mean I will, and also not all Demos actually show what the entire game is like, and one more thing please dont talk down to me.

The combination of demos and reviews(both negative and positive, User and critic) should at least give you enough info to make an informed decision on your purchase. imo, M$ should make demos mandatory for all Xbox One retail titles. I've never loved a demo and hated a game, but maybe that's just me.

Oh, and sorry, heh. I never used to talk like this before. Too much time reading N4G and Youtube comments, I guess.

Until Physical Media is done away with then I really dont see DRM workin well at all and i would understand that. But as it stands it will cause a monopolistic industry and that is not capitalism, it will destroy all the Mom&Pop shops and hurt a lot of Middle America. If gamestop has no competition then they can do whatever the hell they want with trade in's  and charge whatever they want, you cant fight a company that control's everything in a certain industry trust me it's what led to the Great Depression and also the most recent Recession.

"The target demographic of games is poor people"

What's he's definition of poor people? Gaming is and has always been a very expensive hobby. A low middle american will have problems keeping up with a big library of games, being new, used, rent, whatever. The target demographic of video games is the middle class and up, not poor people.

Other than that I agree with everything.

Ty for apologising and yes I see your point with the demos and reviews but somehing could change although it is highly unlikely it is still possible. Also the methods you mentioned is why most games are bought these days, But and a very big "But" not all games are reviewd and showed fairly and also not all games have a demo before their launch.

I think thats an extremely paranoid and unrealitic way of looking at it. The same business model is implemented with smartphones, tablets, PCs as of Windows 8 and Chromebook, music sales, movie sales...and there is no recession.

Mom and pop stores selling video games have been getting wiped for a decade but guys like Amazon, Walmart, gamestop and best buy. This trend will continue regardless of DRM. Next up it will be Gamestop who starts to suffer once people start taking advantage of digital sales and stop buying digital games from retailers like Gamestop... Much like Netflix and digital streaming killed blockbuster. One thing is for sure though, life will go on and great games will continue to be made...

"Video games are targeted towards low income demographic." I agree with this 100%.

Good video, good comments, honest response without the need to be offensive or vulgar. Thanks for sharing OP.
