Forums - Sony - Why are people upset that polygon gave that last of us a 7

They are also upset with GameSpot for given it an 8.

I think it's called being a cyber bully. When you group bash someone for having an opinion.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

because polygon is apparently funded by microsoft so therefore they were paid to give last of us a 7.5. That is what i got from the comment section in n4g

Because a lot of people seemingly care more about scores than the game itself.

because they already played the demo and think it is a 10...

I fix for you :)

I think that console exclusives bring out the worst in their respective audiences. Halo 4, Skyward Sword are just a few examples. For some very devoted Sony fans, when a reviewer gives the latest exclusive game, which is this case the last of us, anything lower than a 9, there is going to be outcry. Every fanbase does it. The crazy shi*storm that ensued after the 7.5 for skyward sword was just as bad.

I can't be bother to play with any games having a score of less than 10. So. a 7.5 is a no buy from me. Blame the reviewer.

This is what game reviews do.

If the score is inconsistent with the review = lots of clicks, and hits.

because theres 30 10s and 1 7

This happens with any game that gets a lot of praise. The lowest score is always treated that way.

Yep. I remeber the furore over Halo getting 87. Its still a very very good score and one mediocre-good score wont change that.

That is actually irritating. I don't care about scores but I am often annoyed by the score not being in line with the impression you get from the text. Domestic media and reviewers here (Norway) do this all the time, like when they whine about how CoD doesn't offer anything new at all and looks outdated and plays and sounds the same and then they give it a 10/10 or a six on the dice. Hate that shit.
