i wonder what they thought when they made that game. did they really expect this to have a chance to succeed?

That's focus group oriented game development for you. Insomniac were idiots for partnering up with EA. They should have partnered up with a less controlling 3rd party publisher. Or just stuck with being Sony's bitch and made the Fuse game they actually wanted to make, which Sony would have let them do.

Gods so what have Insomniac and EA got themselves into with another 10 years of horrible games, which Insomniac are going to hate making and EA are going to take a bath on publishing. Maybe there's an out clause if the first game bombs badly and EA will cut them loose. Hopefully the get picked up, otherwise we could see the death of this studio, and it would be sad for them to go out on such a low note.

Fuse should be at ~1.5k.

That's beyond terrible.

the game will have trouble breaking 100K worldwide......... lifetime. if the US pre-orders are any correct

wow Insomniac, go back to sony

EA probably didn't, which is why they did the "focus testing" that resulted in it losing all its character

ahh, didn't know about that. so, the game was different to what it is now?

Someone didn't watch the EA E3 conference in 2011...

Poor Fuse indeed. It will be sad to see the company deteriorate as Rare did if this continues.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

:O Seriously!? That's what it was called when they announced the EA partnership and the Sony betrayal ;o

you are so pretty!

I hope these sales cause Ted Price to rethink the future of Fuse. It must be weird for them. They went from making a trilogy of games (Spyro) to a new trilogy (Ratchet) to two new trilogies (Spyro & Ratchet). For all intents and purposes, they're at least used to making games into series of at least 3. But each of their previous trilogies had initial success, and it looks like Fuse is completely bypassing that.

It was a good idea to own the IP; and it could've worked out had things been different. But if USA sales reflect these UK sales, then it's better to just cut it now than try and get people interested in something there's clearly no interest for.

Incidentally, if 1.5k is correct, that's less than half of what Sly Cooper opened to back in February. A long-dormant franchise with no advertising that seems to have severely underperformed. Eep.
