Forums - Gaming - Pachter: "both PS4/Xbox One sell out at launch", estimates PS4 @ $349/XOne @ $399

I like Pachter, but he is like everyone else right now... guessing. Who knows what product will sell well or not.

Honest question here: why would he think PS4 is cheaper than Xbone when PS4 has superior hardware? Could the new Kinect really drive the Xbone's price that much?

However it is the same company.  Not only that, but the UK is a very small region to be counting your pre-orders from to begin with.

Not sure what you mean, the US blockbuster is not the same as the UK blockbuster... they are owned by different people:

UK is one of the biggest gaming markets in the world, but thats not the point, i was commenting on a comment about Blockbuster top pre-orders, I was stating that it was UK blockbuster that they were talking about.

I just dont see the PS4 being cheaper than the XboxOne. Just because of the Extra 4GB of GDDR5. I expect at least price parity, if not I really expect the PS4 to be slightly more expensive.

I certainly would be shocked if the PS4 was cheaper, but it would be a nice shock i suppose... of course perhaps they are talking about USA prices, where perhaps Sony will try to undercut MS to try and get a bit of traction, considering the Xbox has done really well in the USA.

And Amazon in the UK isn't Amazon in the US.  What's your point?

my point was in the UK blockbuster has a different profile... they sell games, they sell consoles, they rent games.... quite successfully.

Amazon in the Uk and Us are the same business.

Amazon in the UK and the US have different markets.
Blockbuster in the UK and the US are the same blockbuster, just with different markets.  They have the same logo.

Also the article shown does not specify Blockbuster in the UK, though looking it up they were referring to the UK (which still isn't that big of a deal since one UK retailer doesn't make up that large of the entire market share).

So far, the only PS4 part that is confirmed to be superior is RAM.   X1's  CPU and GPU information are pure speculation.

Patcher was right about 3 things on the Xbox One:

-Kinect bundle with every xbox
-Xbox won't work without kinect
-Always on connection

I think PS4 will be 449$ but I hope the Patch-Man is right again.

well, kinect 2.0 might even the costs for both but M$ is in a better position to take losses so xone should retail for $50 less. not that it matters since xone will fail anyway.

349? 399?

Yeah lol nope. Sony can't take 349. As for Microsoft I can see them trying to set price lol so they can get a lot of
Kinects in rooms ASAP.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

$349 for the PS4? $399 for the Xbone? Keep dreaming. I expect at least another $100 tacked on to both of these if they don't want a massive loss from the get-go.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
