Forums - Gaming - UK Xbox One pre-orders ahead of PS4, although PS4 enjoys post Xbox spike

"MCV has received word from retail sources"

How very reliable and verifiable.

Making news stories using anecdotal evidence to bring in the hits for the win, right?

well, ps4 actually hasn't really been shown yet either though has it?
The February event was more of a teaser than anything. They didn't talk about its capabilities at all outside of a technical aspect, and showing several games and the controller. That's really it.

Gawker supports an entire family of websites on that philosophy.

Meaningless data.

At this stage preorders consist of irrational and impulsive gamers who act with their emotions first and think later (hence the PS4 spike after Xbox reveal...when the thing is still 6 months away).

OH MY GOD SALES STOP PANICKING!

Whereas if this was about the ps4 some of the people posting here would be all "in your face xboner"

What's the problem with a news story saying this? What is their agenda? Why would they lie?

I suggest you take it for what it is.  Just a news item relaying what they believe to be true.

I know it's impossible to believe for some, but hey, just maybe the Xbox dominates in the UK now and so this was expected? Carzy huh?

Indeed they would, but I wouldn't be among them.

I'm not accusing them of lying, I'm accusing them of making a sensationalist clickbait headline with a lack of actual data. It is entirely possible that the Xbox One will outsell the PS4 in the UK, but it is far too early to even begin to judge that based on "word from retail sources".
