damage is done

Nah, make a few moves and it'll all work out.

Aside from it showing up all over the news as a surveillance device and being investigated for breaking laws in uk  and eu for the used game system...the casual only pays attention to headlines. So they really need news outlets to release news to the contrary.

Or you can simply put a blanket on the Kinect device in case you are paranoid enough to believe that someone at Microsoft is watching you in your everyday life.

Seriously, people make issues out of the most ridiculous things these days.

Agree with you a 100% on this one. I mean, if people want to get technical, the moment they own a cell phone they can be tracked 24/7. Plus, let's be honest, most of this negative feedback comes from MS haters :p

With the right games and imaging, the same folks who made the 360 a success will largely show up again this generation, hence "few moves." I'm not worried.

Uh...I'm pretty sure this is "Kinect can be turned off" only if you "if you turn the entire thing off".

On other words you can unplug it.

neither am i worried. :/

So does it work without the Kinect plugged in?
Can I leave the Kinect in the living room when I take the box downstairs to play on my projector?

Of course it can be turned off. Unless they designed a plug that locks into your electricity socket...

"Yes, you can turn the system completely off," a Microsoft rep told Kotaku. "This would use no power and turn everything off."

In other words, Kinect will turn off when you unplug the system.

At first I was pretty pleased with this news...until I read that little tidbit. I personally don't really care if Kinect is watching me (I haz nothing to hide!) but I know it's a pretty big deal for a lot of other people.

Couldn't they get into trouble in some countries for having it required to be on whenever the console is on?

I agree also. It's disgusting the blind hate being thrown around.

huh? It looks to me that saying you turn kinect off buy turning console off not turn kinect off but leave console on...
