I guess its due to costs. Restrictions between price and weight. Nintendo wanted to control the Gamepad weight to be below 500g.

Either way Nyko says their PowerPak weighs the same since it is using lithium polymer instead of lithium-ion.

The wii U, just like the Vita is an amazing system. They just need time to grow those game libraries.

Probably a good time to pick one up at the moment. There's enough price cuts around that you can get one for a decent price, and the library is good enough to keep you occupied for a couple of months and then the stream of new releases begins somewhat. Hopefully they can keep the games coming this time around.

Needs a price cut and more software. The retailers are already selling it at $50 off plus bundling extra games. So it already has an unofficial price cut.

Congrats..  It's gonna be a great Nintendo generation starting this Christmas.  It's going to be great not to have the gaming media singling Nintnedo out anymore now that they are busy attacking the One for being Entertainment focused.  Nintendo is downright core game focused these days.  Bring on e3!!!!
