PR Disaster.

Not really.

That video, and all the whining, is being done by the very small forum-frequenting demographic who will either buy an Xbox anyway (because it has the games they like) or had no intention of buying one. A few poorly communicated features are unlikely to have changed anyone's minds.

The overwhelming majority of Xbox buyers have no idea there's an "Xbox One" never mind the negative stuff. The "bad PR" starts when people buy the system and it doesn't have what they want and they tell their friends that, or when they go on Amazon after launch and see it's $500.

It is bad PR. The event targeted game journalists and internet people. Both are pooping on it all over the internet. Who else did watch the xbox reveal ?

Perhaps XBone have another demographic, but then what was the point of streaming the reveal ?

Around the Network

 - xbox one reveal sits at 5 million views on the xbox channel and the ps4 reveal is at 28 million.

 - Nearly more dislikes then likes on the xbox one reveal video

- Xbox one reveal video comments disabled (2 videoes not just the one in the OP)

Either there is alot of ps4 fans trolling M$ or its becoming a fact that no one really likes it apart from the xbox loyalists :/

Couldn't see the ps4 URL maybe M$ disabled it.

Its a pointless comparison, because the Xbox One reveal has only been online for 4 and a half days.

A better comparison would be the Xbox One Troll video, which has more views than the official Xbox One Reveal video.

You dont think it will have changed anyones minds? I disagree.

The World knows that the Xbox One has been revealed. It was all over mainstream media, from TV to newspapers to Internet news sites and it dominated social media. The negative news is actually dominating social media, which is arguably the quickest source for news today.

The forum demographic actually talk to people. People socialize outside of the forums, people talk. You can bet your balls that people will have been talking about this and the comments after the conference. Its pure anti-consumer. Its why Microsoft have removed the comments section on YouTube. Its because people are having an overwhelmingly negative reaction to the majority of stuff thats been announced and shown.

Everything that people feared has been confirmed. People who speak for the company have been giving mixed messages.

I mean, this news has even affected GameStop Stock. Its down by over 10% since the used games news broke.

Disaster may be a bit strong, but its sure as hell a huge fuck up.

I will bet you 10 real dollars that 90% of current Xbox 360 owners could not tell you the name of the Xbox One unprompted when asked what the name of the next Xbox is.

You have an imaginary perception of how important forums and social media really are.

Obviously the people in the know, know. Stock analysts, journalists, people like us. But we also know that what was shown at the conference wasn't make or break at all for its sales. The things that are make or break are game library and price, neither of which is announced. I agree there are negatives but the actual customers don't know about them yet. And in fact will never know unless they personally run into that wall (i.e. attempt to sell a used game).

"People" who are having a negative reaction = tiny vocal minority

Well, no. We have no idea how many know. What we do know is that the Xbox One has been in papers, gamestores and on TV. Its been on news sites. Its been all over social media. Its general discussion.

Social Media is pretty major. I mean - https://www.facebook.com/xbox - Over 21 Million people like the Xbox page on Facebook. Thats just one page. There are plenty more with likes ranging from 500k to 3 Million. To show just how big social media can be, the PlayStation Facebook page has over 32 Million likes.

You cant deny that audience. You cant deny that the people in the know will be talking to the general consumer.

No negativity allowed guys. Everyone is happy. Great features. This forum is becoming a laughing stock. Vgchartz is the only place to read negative reaction about the console.

I deny it.

Oh, that's funny. I had to look to find it, up in the little address window.

Perhaps Google Trollin'?

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
