The World knows that the Xbox One has been revealed. It was all over mainstream media, from TV to newspapers to Internet news sites and it dominated social media. The negative news is actually dominating social media, which is arguably the quickest source for news today. The forum demographic actually talk to people. People socialize outside of the forums, people talk. You can bet your balls that people will have been talking about this and the comments after the conference. Its pure anti-consumer. Its why Microsoft have removed the comments section on YouTube. Its because people are having an overwhelmingly negative reaction to the majority of stuff thats been announced and shown. Everything that people feared has been confirmed. People who speak for the company have been giving mixed messages. I mean, this news has even affected GameStop Stock. Its down by over 10% since the used games news broke. Disaster may be a bit strong, but its sure as hell a huge fuck up. |
I will bet you 10 real dollars that 90% of current Xbox 360 owners could not tell you the name of the Xbox One unprompted when asked what the name of the next Xbox is.
You have an imaginary perception of how important forums and social media really are.
Obviously the people in the know, know. Stock analysts, journalists, people like us. But we also know that what was shown at the conference wasn't make or break at all for its sales. The things that are make or break are game library and price, neither of which is announced. I agree there are negatives but the actual customers don't know about them yet. And in fact will never know unless they personally run into that wall (i.e. attempt to sell a used game).
"People" who are having a negative reaction = tiny vocal minority
