True, very true! But unfortunately, it seems to have been a fad that has faded. As that most Wii now sits being used primarily for Multimedia (mostly Streaming Netflix) and not being used for gaming. The last major franchise, Zelda Skyward Sword, didn't sell in the way a major franchise usually sells. Especially as the last hurrah at the end of a generation. (SS 3.6 million to Mario Bros. Wii 26.9 million. Even Just Dance Wii 3 and 4 outsold Zelda by 3 and 2 times respectively.)
Nintendo did great with an innovative new way of interacting with gaming. Having seen other attempts over the years, I was very surprised how well they did, but they seem to have lost their momentum. I think much of the same market, including myself, has moved over to the Kinect. Kinect does most of the things the Wii can do, a few things not as well, and a whole bunch of great things even the WiiU can’t. And the new Kinect seems like a 2 generation or more improvement.
But we have yet to see either the X1 or Ps4 in the real world. Nintendo did great with the Wii, but I think it was more of an exception than the future of gaming. For just one holiday seasion I don't think the WiiU is doing that badly, unles one compairs it to the amazing sales of the original Wii.
