No way this is true.

Would be the dumbest thing ever if they'd implemented something like this. Do they want people to get PS4's and WiiU's instead? I'm not even sure something like this'll fly here in Europe either. Privacy issues and consumer protection issues.

Exactly. The patent was filed by Kinect inventor Alex Kipman as well as Andrew Fuller and Kathryn Stone Perez from the Xbox hardware development department. Furthermore, such a move would mainly make sense in a TV-centric device with a required camera, probably a 3D camera so it can't be cheated.

So obviously, they had a completely different scenario in mind and it's utterly ridiculous to even speculate about it.
