So your saying you've never had things like this happen because I sure as hell have.

I've been playing on PC almost as long as I've been playing console games, and if all the stuff we're hearing pans out then the consoles will only be good for exclusives. There will be no intrinsic value to having a closed platform with static, soon-to-be-outdated hardware beyond that.
The constant need for new patches has eliminated the plug-and-play argument. For me, the ease of swapping games with friends and family, along with rentals and buying used games, were the biggest advantage. If they're going to be as restrictive about it as they are with PC games, then I'm more than happy to stick with PC games. My PS3 has been collecting dust for months because of Steam and Amazon's flea market sales anyway.
I got Sonic Generations, All-Star Racing, Sonic 4 Episodes I and II, and a bunch of the Genesis games, for $10 last week. You really think I'm going to lose sleep over not being able to trade them in at such prices? Or that a console market still dependent on retail and selling used games is going to be offering such sales on a regular basis? Because I sure as hell don't.

That + Price : And if you go with a low-price PC you will have trouble running games at the same level of quality of the next consoles. Ease of use: Plug and play, console controllers (even if you can plug it on PC it is not the default input). Hacking/Cheating : Not saying it is not happening on console, but it is 10x times worse on PC. and it is ruining my gaming experience. I actually switched to console years ago because of this. All in one box in the living room. You can put a PC there and plugit to the TV but it is a lot of setup etc. You need wireless keyboard or install additionnal software to support controller only inputs etc... Consoles are just made for that. At the end it is a matter of oppinion anyway but this is mine :)

Forgot about that, but that only affects mp plus modding makes up for it.
Im not a pc gamer so I don't use big picture mode, but I can't imagine it being difficult to hook your pc up to your tv.
I really meant for this question to be direct at core gamers who would already have basic to advanced knowledge of pcs.

A couple of times yes, but it doesn't affect me at all. I just ignore it and I can play the game like normal.
I think this has something do with the the updates Visual Studio needs. I actually use Visual Studio for programming and I need it to be updated all the time, maybe it has something to do with that.
But in the end this happens to console games as well, I had times when my Wii said: "Unable to read disc" or something like that. In the end is the same.
Nintendo and PC gamer

I think, I have advanced knowledge of PCs :) I'm a software developer and I have like 5 PCs at home.
Does mean I prefer to have a PC in my living room with all the setup required (even if I know how to do it) over a console :)
Local multiplayer.
Better support for new input devices.

Exclusives and local multiplayer are the only advantages.
That's why I had Wii + PC for the majority of the last generation and expect to do the same this gen.

I've had games refuse to work and things like graphical errors (man it so much fun trying to get rage that to run properly), crashes having to restart the computer ETC.
Dosen't happen all the time but it happens often enough that I just got to the point where I said fuck it don't care about graphics and have limited time so I moved to mainly console gaming about the start of this console GEN and haven't regretted it for a second.

Makes me sad how local multiplayer is becoming a thing of the past. Some of my fondest gaming memories were local multiplayer on the n64 and GameCube. It's not gone entirely but it became less common this gen due to online play, which is one of the few negatives of online play becoming so popular.
