Forums - Microsoft - Devs express disappointment with Xbox One over Twitter

I feel this is another example of indie developers getting far above their station

They are indie games, if it a good game then find a publisher and get it on Xbox Live. With the currents structure, plenty of good indie games have come to Xbox

They are trying, but MS has high demands financially to the point where their publishers need publishers. Thats what one dev said.

Well I have read about the really high fees for patches, which does seem over the top, but indies are not the most important thing in gaming

Looks like indie devs will be on Wii U and PS4 this gen. I expect the Wii U to get more than the PS4 however, but we shall see.

But then again, I never expected any differently.

Also, quote trees guys!

The Wii U having more indy games than Sony? Interesting.

Yes they are important...hell a downloadable was GOTY 2012 and another downloadable for Sony was runner up. I've always said they should not take the spotlight over the AAA titles in arguments with 360 fans but whenever they have droughts in their game lineups they always cite XBLA titles. Sony allows devs to self publish and so do Nintendo, so they know where to find their success. I think Sony will advertise for them better than Nintendo though.

Yeah, that would suggest to me that M$'s policy is fine. I think people are hyping them too much

Hmmm...I sense a lack of empathy, but cool. Im going to rest up.

Half of those indie devs would exist without MS... Xbox and its community made indie games like Fez and braid possible.

You really should put "INDIE DEVS" in the title.

I second this. It's almost flamebait otherwise.

WOW Nintendo and few indie devs are making bad comments about the Xbox One...
Yep, Microsoft is doomed :)

Also, you should change your title for "Indie Devs"...

What difference does it make? They're developers after all, don't treat them in the same demeaning way Microsoft does.

I am one of them... We are a team of 5 working on an indie MMORPG. And guess what Microsoft is helping us a lot with our project by giving us ressources, softwares and the infrastructures (we are targetting windows 8 and RT).

It is funny how most of you have no clue of what you are talking about and when an indie dev is crying you are just blaming the big bad publisher instead.
Even if we are indie (by indie I mean that we are founding ourselves and plan to publish our games by ourselves too) we are just looking at some of them out them complaining and it is giving the indie community a bad image. I will not complain about Sony but we approached them and they are not as "nice with indie" as you think. But this is just expected as MS and Sony cannot please everyone; now we will not go out there and start bitching on them like some other indie studios are doing.

When you state that Microsoft is "demeaning" them... You are completly clueless.
