It actually seems to have the opposite effect, because the government can run some routines to make people more confident in them. How come that terrorists still haven't realized this? |
This. Just this.
At the same time I wanted to say that people who respond to this with "terrorists are evil" don't understand that there is a reason why these people are doing these things. Have any of you watched Children of Men? We see these things from the outside but there is a deeper issue.
These radicals see injustice in the arab world from the western nations and that MUST be addressed. I'm not even muslim and I understand this. The way these people are going about addressing their problem is a way of intense passion, and from the outside it seems like pure madness but we don't see the atrocities our western societies are doing on their people. It's easy to say turn the other cheek, but put yourselves in their shoes for a minute.
And true that their method was inflamed with passion there are much smarter ways to go about it. Either way whether government or individuals committing violence, it is wrong, but you can't blame individuals for inflicting violence when the governments are committing abhorrent crimes and being given a free pass on it, the human heart doesn't tolerate injustice like that.
All in all, put yourselves in their shoes for a second, and also realize that these people may not be the most intelligent of all (running at gunmenwith blades, bravo).
