Forums - Microsoft - 360: "HUGE" news will keep it "Vibrant for many years"

X360 is selling what, upwards of 8.5M this year? 77M already sold, 24M kinects shipped, XBLA doing well and retail software still boasting 85-90M+.

Why exactly would MS and third party stop supporting the X360? O.o

Perhaps some people just want it to. Also keep in mind that MS has an amazing long history where they dropped support of an old console to support the new console (which was the first xbox) so people conclude that because of the long history of MS' gaming-console-support it will also happen this time.

@ walsufnir:

Difference is though that Microsoft discontinued because of HW issues (They sued each other as early as 2002) with Nvidia. It simply was impossible to continue to sell OG Xbox at acceptable prices.

Microsoft/IBM/AMD don't have this issue, X360 is profitable and has been through several die shrinks. :)

I wasn't contradicting, I just made a sarcastic and ironic post :) And please use the "reply"-funtion, this helps keeping track on discussions.

$99 XBox mini at E3. I think it's pretty much the worst kept secret in the business right now.

LOL! It's not far off.

Xbox mini will be an add on for the Xbox ONE that will allow it to play 360 games, will be confirmed.

Xbox One games will be playable on Xbox360 confirmed!

I fully expect this through streaming.

I totally agree and fully expect this to be the announcement, microsoft will use Windows 8so any Windows 8 device will act as a client and stream games from the Xbox One, windows 8 laptops and tablets will have xbox wireless controller receivers and the Xbox one will act as a server.

People will have their own in-house cloud gaming setup i reckon whilst people in the living room can use xbox one for media stuff.

2nd place... ?

LMAO if that happens again.

Never, the ps3 will continue to outsell it in every territory outside of the US/UK. With all the exclusives this fall and a probable prize cut we may even see ps3 near its sales in those regions too.

Sorry for short answer but "no". The lead is way too big in UKUS.

I mean in terms of weekly sales this fall, not lifetime :)

Oh... Yes, perhaps. Depends on what MS will show on e3 :)
