whats funny.  the fact thats MS is so fuckin huge the xbox reveal makes no odds?

Im talking about the coincidence.

Dont be so touchy, youre being ever so defensive today

Gamespot is holding a poll on twitter to see which console looks more attractive.......as I typed this the PS4 is heavily favored with 89% of respondants favoring that console, compared to the Xbox One

Another awesome thing about the Xbox One is that you will be able to order a pizza, basicallly get whatever you want. This partnership will bring in some big bucks, too bad that the other two consoles dont have partnerships like this.

A huge announcement about the 360 is incoming, that will supposedly "keep it vibrant for many years" to come.

Did Microsoft just invent the telescreen from 1984? (Not my rhetoric, just the following article's title)

In its hour-long Xbox One presentation, Microsoft blazed through announcements for its new next-generation console, including one ostensibly important feature that may raise some eyebrows: the new Xbox will always be listening to you, even when it's turned off.

The reason for always-on listening mode is simple; Microsoft wants the new Xbox to respond quickly and naturally to you, whenever you need it. To fulfill that goal, the company will ship the new Kinect — its motion-sensing and listening peripheral — with every Xbox One. The new console uses the new Kinect for just about everything: switching between games, movies, web browsing, and live television, all of which can be done with voice commands. (In fact, the new console needs the Kinect to operate at all — it's not an optional add-on like with the Xbox 360.) Even when the console's turned off, users can simply say "Xbox On" to power up — which means the new Kinect will be listening to you in your living room at all times.

-------------------
Edit: some people, even 360 fans are acknowledging that this is kinda creepy. I remember looking at a post a few minutes ago, suggesting that one could simply cover up the camera lens but why should you have to go through that trouble in the first place?

Imagine Sean Payton holding up a Surface tablet instead of a cardboard playsheet on the sideline.

Envision Peyton Manning sitting on the bench and dissecting the last series from a variety of camera angles on his hand-held device instead of looking at still photos. Or sitting at home and pulling up real-time highlights on a Sunday afternoon.
Schein: Time is now for Peyton
Adam Schein says the window is closing on Peyton Manning's chance to land a legacy-securing second Super Bowl title. More ...

It's coming.

The NFL and Microsoft, through its next generation Xbox device, are combining to upgrade interactive TV viewing of pro football games in a multiyear agreement announced Tuesday. The next step after that, perhaps as early as 2014, will be bringing technology to the sidelines on tablets.

The deal is worth $400 million over five years for the NFL, according to a person familiar with the agreement. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because financial details have not been made public.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000205083/article/nfl-microsoft-strike-deal-to-enhance-fans-tv-viewing-of-games

Edit:
So, Microsoft will be spending 400 million over 5 years to make its tablets, etc have a visible presence in NFL games. Basically, if you see your favorite QB using the Surface, then you will hopefully want to as well.

I think that this is kind of a waste of money to be honest, as the people that like sports and those that like tech are two different kinds. Also, instead of a couple of huge deals and a miniscule amount being spent elsewhere, it would probably be a better idea to spread the money around a bit more, to reach a wider audience, but whatever its their $$$$$$, not mine.

Repeat.

Trust me, it'll work.

MSFT had its conference unveiling the nextbox, actually titled the Xbox One , or something remarkably similar to that.

In this MSFT has a few restrictions that have made 360 fans angry and upset over the direction that MSFT has taken its next console. (There will be more bro-statistics given later, some have already made the rounds in this forum).

One of these restrictions is that they will require that the console be online at least once a day, and I beleive for every initial installation.

Also, there will be a fee paid to MSFT, presumably, for every used game purchased, so MSFT is basically trying to take over the used market, and chuck that out the window. They will probably offer cheaper games, but is that enough?  This will probably cause some problems with Gamestop and other resellers, bc it seems obvious that not only will they be selling fewer used Xbox-One games, but MSFT's attempt to bring down or decrease the used market won't score any points with these guys at all.

When you buy software through Microsoft as a part of a license agreement, you pay a fee per license.  Let's say it's $40.  Well, if you want a retail disc for that license, it costs you $10.00.  (Note:  I'm old, I'm basing this off of ancient commericial licensing programs, not current.)

If this does anything, it forces GameStop to charge what should be charged for the media rather than for the license to use, which they have no ownership of.  The way that the second hand retail exchange should be is when you turn in a game, you get $10.  The second hand retailer then turns around and resells the game for $10.  The problem with the second hand market is people who have no participation in the creation of the game, profit.  Not just reasonably, but handsomely so.  They not even just ripping off the developers and publishers, but they're ripping off customers as well.
