I can't say I'm not interested in the PS4. I am, but Sony has to do a very good job this E3 in the game department. The biggest problem for me, now that I'm thinking about it, is most of my favourite franchises are ruined. Final Fantasy has a long way to go to win me back. Metal Gear has me interested still. Street Fighter needs another revamp. God of War needs a break. Uncharted is the only console game that has me interested. Bioware games I'm getting for PC so I have no need for them on PS4.

I agree with this. PS4 has me slightly interested. However just like M$ (well maybe not quite as bad as microsoft) they seem to be releasing games for their big IPs every single year. Think God of war, and what not. I wish they would sit back and release games in an IP every 2-3 years. Its the same with MS. They keep releasing Halo and Call of Duty and forza every year and think that will satisfy everyone. Meanwhile the games suck more and more with each iteration.

All in all im just tired of it. Im not going to support and industry that wants to rip me off as a consumer. Anti used games always online etc etc. I dont mind paying for LIVE or things like that but this other BS needs to stop. And to top it off they release shitty specced hardware so it isnt even tempting to leave my PC behind and take a step backwards.

Would you like me to list the extensive list of new IP's the ps3 and 360 have received or will soon be receiving within the next year and over the past 2 years?, because you're acting as if the current and next consoles will exist solely on existing franchises, and that's totally wrong, for both systems

Actually, gaming companies chose a great time to mess up their new systems. Now I can focus on college studies while I wait for price drops. :)

Yep, pretty dull stuff. In case this forum hasn't figured it out by now, I blame the publishers. They've sucked nearly all the profit out of the hardware makers and used it to dictate homogeny to the point where consoles compete on TV (really?) and social features. Miiverse is cute, but I sure as hell didn't buy the Wii U for it.

I picked up the Wii U because there's a glimmer of innovation in the gamepad and because I wanted more Monster Hunter, but I was secretly hoping Sony or MS would have the balls to try pulling something radical with gaming. Microsoft has decided to be radical in catering to publishers and selling cable boxes. Sony has decided that it doesn't have a radical bone in its body.

I don;t early adopt out of principle. Wait a couple years, see a price drop, 1st year games will be much cheaper, better chipset internally.......just makes sense for me.

I am excited, but won't actually buy, yet.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

i am excited for new ips :D

Of course there are new IPs. But it seems as though the majority of them either dont receive sequels or if they do, they go overboard and release a sequel every year until the franchise begins to get sour. I just wish M$ would get more new IPs and release a new version every 2-3 years at the quickest. Sony is the same way but not nearly as bad.

Long Live SHIO!

All three have let me down. We got one company that put out a system that is too expensive, a year or two late, not an actual step up hardware wise and has a controller for it that people simply dont care for. MS...seems more multimedia focused to me, and we have devices for that already. Sony, why no backward compatbility would have bought that system at launch.

I might just mess with PC more and stick to my 3ds and Vita. Nothing that any of the big three are doing entice me at the moment.

the problem with sony is they dont have the money this time around to be too different they needed to mirrior the XBOX as much as possible while still being different, i think the gddr5 was a good choice, i would have rather seen another power based CPU... not a cell but something.

MS i think messed up bigger go x86 then ppc then x86 thats messed up unless they gives original xbox bc but they wont. they have taken a brand they have built up for 2 gens and whored it out. they will kill it this gen... maybe they can recover but right now they are burning bridges to bilk a little more cash, there are better ways to bilk cash than what they are doing.... and they could have real pushed hardware if they had wanted to with either x86 or PPC but instead they moved to make a cheap box to turn a profit, and then depend on the buzz of social and hope they can backend game with the "cloud"  to deliver great game play… boy i cant wait for the first halo on that console where you have to wait weeks so that the backend servers are not overwhelmed   and you don't get degraded experience like  the new shitter sim city. XBL has ha issues after almost every christmas, now that games may require it to offload some gnu cycles that will make it sooooo much better. and boy hope you have a good internet plan and no latency or poor quality line in your area.

the use of normal ddr3 shows the gnu will either be memory starved by bandwidth or availability or woefully underpowered,

but who knows maybe MS will show something at E3 to change my mind.

sorry for the rant i have been dreading this reveal hoping i was wrong, and it was worse than i thought….

as for nintendo … they went half in should have pushed further with the idea or binned it …. interesting but the hardware they have is just not right… it will have some great games, but will be limited by design choices ….
