Sure it's not set in stone. But the reactions over the last few months from people should have told them to drop it all together, but here we are talking about it on the day of the reveal. Not good.

why would a TV series kill a VG series or vice versa for that matter.... ????

mortal kombat and street fighter ones are not OSCAR material yet those franchise are not dead..... heck I could take Mario as a prime example and god knows that franchise has been milked more than a single cow in a desert tribe.....

It is not a bad ideia for the franchise... it is a good ideia... but it is a bad ideia for a console reveal... a Halo game will have a way bigger impact.

then again we are the geeks that bitch about anything....

I for one don't see the issue with always on and even the fee system if it ends being like steam or the app/music model in the smartphone world....

but as much as we all bitch one way or the other.... this model is the one that will be enforced more and more across the board for everything tech related in the future so you better get use to it.....

@ethomaz agreed but since E3 is around the corner I wasn't expecting much gaming today, the buzz seemed to say it will be about media..... am I the only one who read that in the tech blogs the past couple weeks....

I even told my wife that they will show off how it will reduce the gap between different media platform just an hour before the reveal.... I don't see why people are so surprised it was totally in line with what was to be expected from the buzz they created....

Anyway I hope they change it becuase they will loose the next gen.. im almost certain of it. 

I believe them when they say their own first-party products won't do this (although online passes may continue), but it sounds like they'll be letting third-parties do this if the third-parties so desire. So I think it's fair to say they'll be walking the same line, albeit not quite as far.

They cant just scrap it, its their business model and its what they planned and they already announced it. It shows weakness, stupidity, and dumb business if they stop now.

Since EA completely canceled the Online Pass and from the reveal are leaning strongly with MS, I'm gonna say it might as well be. Also, backpedaling and damage control.

It's pretty stupid to think about running into a train thinking it's a good idea. It'even stupider to actually try doing it.

MS did damage control with their statement and hopefully they are thinking long and hard.
