You could see that perfectly on the stream. None of the people in the front were clapping because all of them had laptops on their laps. I also thought that it would be kinda unprofessional for press people to holler like that. I was constantly looking for the stripper that apparently just entered the stage.

You could even see people looking behind them trying to understand. Anyway I wouldn't be surprised if Sony did this too, or any company doing a conference, you never want a big and embarassing quiet moment when you expect some applause. Ms just didn't do it... well, in a sneaky way.
